May 2026We spent two days planning the next quarter. By week three, the plan was gone. Not because the team failed. Because the organisation kept arriving with new priorities. I saw this pattern repeatedly. Across teams, across organisations. The plan existed. The protection didn't. Most quarterly planning sessions I've been part of produced one thing reliably: a document that was out of date before the ink dried. The problem isn't the planning. It's that nobody owns the boundary between the plan and everything else trying to get in. That's what Chapter 3 of Notes from the Whiteboard is about.
Apr 2026Applications for the Spring Global Shapers Copenhagen cohort are now open! 🚀 If you are looking for a community of ambitious, passionate, and initiative-taking young professionals who care about creating real impact, this could be something you do not want to miss. We already have a really exciting pipeline of projects in motion: from amplifying Nordic youth voices in climate policy ( #NYCA ), to changing the conversation around chronic pain ( #painfreecph ), rethinking urban spaces ( #CityInitiative ), fighting air pollution ( #EqualAirCollaboration ), and supporting Ukraine. Whether you want to jump into one of the existing projects or bring a new idea to the table, we are looking for people who are curious, proactive, and genuinely committed to contributing. I feel very lucky to lead this year’s cohort as the curator, together with my superstar team, Jan Renken , Anne-Sophie P. , and Maria Paula Muñoz , and the rest of the active Shapers in the hub💛 Feel free to reach out to me directly if you are interested or want to learn more, or just apply through the link below.
Apr 2026If there is one thing that consistently shapes careers in this industry, it’s mentorship. 𝗡𝗼 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲. Every leader I know can point to people who offered guidance at key moments. Someone who took the time to answer questions, share their experience, or open a door that may have otherwise stayed closed. Those moments matter more than people realize. Mentorship doesn’t always look like a formal program. Sometimes it’s simply being willing to share knowledge and invest time in someone else’s growth. The best leaders understand that developing others is part of their responsibility. When we help others grow, the entire industry becomes stronger. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.
Apr 2026𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. A team isn't delivering what's expected. The pace is slow. The quality is off. And everyone in the room knows who the problem is. I've been in those meetings. Many times. It took me too long to learn to ask the right question. Not "who is the problem?" but "what is the system doing to them?" Most performance problems I've seen in large organisations weren't people problems. They were system problems. Unclear ownership. Conflicting priorities. Structures that asked for one thing and rewarded something else. The person was just the one standing at the front. When you change the system, you change the behaviour. Not always. Not quickly. But far more often than a conversation with the person who "isn't delivering". That's what my next chapter in 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 is about: what happens when you stop working on people and start working on the system around them.
Apr 2026You also heard about how wild the new Claude Mythos model is? Is it hype? Is it real? Well, the UK has a research organisation called AI Security Institute (AISI) that got access to the model (potentially the only public org to do that), and the results are in: https://lnkd.in/etfQwsSf . Result: Mythos is good at hacking - better than any previous model: "Mythos Preview’s success on one cyber range indicates that is at least capable of autonomously attacking small, weakly defended and vulnerable enterprise systems where access to a network has been gained." but "... we cannot say for sure whether Mythos Preview would be able to attack well-defended systems." so prepare, don’t panic.
Apr 2026As organizations grow, leaders often focus on scalability. Systems. Processes. Efficiency. Those things are necessary. Without them, growth becomes chaos. But there’s another side of growth that deserves just as much attention. 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲. Behind every operational improvement and every growth milestone are individuals building careers and investing their time, energy, and talent into the organization. When companies grow quickly, it’s easy to unintentionally lose sight of that. The strongest organizations are the ones that grow without losing their sense of humanity. The ones where people still feel supported, heard, and empowered to develop into leaders themselves. Growth should never come at the expense of culture. If anything, it should strengthen it.
