Country, Blues and Rock’n’Healthcare. Nashville has been the theatre of the last few days. A city known around the world for its music and creativity but driven by a healthcare story that at its heart so powerful it demands global recognition. As we navigate the I40 from Nashville to Memphis I’m afforded a chance to reflect momentarily on the conversations of recent days with leaders across some of the country’s top providers and universities who between them are shaping the future of care for generations to come. There is much for us to learn from how this ecosystem is mobilising and organising itself. It has been clear to many for years that the ingredients of this healthcare ecosystem are significant and the scale truely unsurpassed but what impresses most is the openness and collaborative ease with which it comes together. It is more than a little humbling to hear in such a matter-of-fact way from those across the city who’s leadership is creating something quite unique. For those of you out there with an interest in where healthcare is going over the coming years I’d invite you to spend more than just a little time getting to know Nashville.
