I've spent 18 years building brands for some of the world's biggest companies. Somewhere along the way, I slowed down building my own. Maybe it's the marketer in me who is always more comfortable putting the spotlight on the product than on the person behind it. But I've been thinking lately: the work only travels as far as the voice behind it carries it. So here's mine. I started in Bhopal, in a family where success had a very specific shape: doctor, engineer, IAS officer. I didn't fit it. My strongest subject was communication, which in a small town in 2001 wasn't considered a career. I chose it anyway. That one decision set the direction for everything that followed. From DB Corp and CNBC to an INSEAD MBA in Singapore and France. From building global CRM at Charles & Keith to being a part of a Japanese brand acquisition across North Asia at J&J. From winning a President's Award at Abbott Singapore for digital transformation to building PepsiCo's Global Business Services marketing hub in Hyderabad from the ground up. Eighteen years. Five industries. Three continents. And one consistent thread is understanding why people choose what they choose, and building brands that earn that choice. Along the way, I've been a marketer, a strategist, a team builder, and a mother navigating things that no job description prepares you for. What's carried me through isn't a linear plan. It's the ability to read a room, whether that room is a boardroom in New York or a startup in Manila. And now I'm here leading Global Marketing at Affinity Global , bringing everything I know about consumers into the world of B2B AdTech. My first role where the brand I'm building and the voice I'm finding are finally in the same place at the same time. Marketing has moved from print to performance, from mass media to AI-mediated channels, and yet the fundamentals haven't shifted an inch. Understand what people actually need. Show up before they've finished forming the question. Build something they trust. That's what I want to write about here: the real decisions behind the career, the frameworks that actually held up under pressure, and the things I wish someone had told me earlier. This is my beginning.
