This one scheme gives you 90% of the money... and allows you to be 100% owner of your business while investing just 10% of the capital... This scheme is popularly known as 50:10:40... where 50% is the subsidy that the govt gives you, 10% is your own contribution, and 40% is in the form of a loan that you will be given to get started... The business can be in fashion, clothing, furniture, contruction, food and several other categories... And this scheme is called the National Bamboo Mission 2025... and has been made live across 24 states of India... The idea is to use Bamboo as a core raw material being processed to build your business... In clothes, it is bamboo fibre... in furniture, it is the use of rattan jaali design, in construction, it could be boards, doors, flooring, then there's bio-energy, paper, herbal medicines, or even setting up a bamboo nursery... You make a project report which should be submitted with your State Bamboo Mission or the State Bamboo Development Authority... On approval of the report, you put in 10% of the capital, yourself, the balance comes in as loan from a scheduled bank... and the govt pays off 50% of the total cost of the project in the form of loan repayment after the project is completed... The registration for this has to be done online on the respective portal of your State's Bamboo Mission... The reason for this is that India is the second largest producer of Bamboo in the world and we still import Bamboo from outside so the domestic demand is so high... and they want to incentivise people to not just grow bamboo, but also convert it to processed goods that would build the entire value chain... If people want to just set up bamboo plantations, the govt provides subsidy on the planting material as well as the infrastructure. Here are a few examples of products that you can build. #casarthakahuja

In my last piece, I wrote about how a small mill town in Massachusetts changed the course of modern medicine. This one asks the harder question - can we do the same for the AI age? Hope you enjoy the article. #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #leadership #Research #cancer

Milk has just become expensive in India - both Mother Dairy and Amul have announced that starting tomorrow every litre will cost Rs 2 extra... But why is milk getting expensive? It doesn't come from the Strait of Hormuz... There are 4 main reasons... Firstly, the cost of production for farmers has gone up by 20-25% in feed and fodder because erratic monsoons have led to a shortage in supply of rice bran, soybean, corn and other such produce used to feed cattle... Second, transportation and packaging costs have gone up because oil is expensive, and plastic needs crude as a raw material... as a direct impact of the war Third, a Lumpy Skin Disease broke out in cattle in 2022... which led to reduction in supplies, death of animals over time, and lower yield... There haven't been enough births to make up for higher demand... and there is seemingly an 8-10% shortage against the demand Fourth, milk requires a cold chain to transport, which is even more expensive and needs more energy to transport and store... And the dairy companies are saying that they are absorbing costs, and only taking a tiny portion of the cost increase from customers because it is a price sensitive product So two things: - Be cautious of consuming dairy products from budget eateries... expect adulteration, because in the current economic crisis, there is not much in terms of price that a number of businesses will be able to increase - Now, the post election inflation has begun to hit - and we will see a lot more products increasing in price over the next few weeks... so plan for a wage increase or home cost reduction... the coming 12 months will be economically brutal for the nation #casarthakahuja

Most people still think AI Engineers spend their day writing prompts. That phase is ending fast. In real-world GenAI systems today, prompting is maybe 10% of the work. The other 90% looks like this: • fixing retrieval quality • reducing hallucinations • optimizing latency • handling token limits • managing context windows • building evaluation pipelines • monitoring agent failures • controlling inference cost • designing fallback logic • integrating enterprise systems A lot of engineers enter AI expecting: “Cool model work.” Then reality hits: Production AI is mostly systems engineering under uncertainty. One of the biggest surprises for me was seeing how tiny context failures create massive downstream problems. Example: An AI agent receives incomplete retrieval context. The reasoning layer still generates a confident answer. Another agent consumes that answer and triggers automation. Now the system is executing confidently wrong business actions at scale. That’s why companies are suddenly investing heavily in: • AI observability • LLM evaluation frameworks • semantic caching • agent monitoring • retrieval scoring • workflow tracing • human approval loops Not because the models are weak. Because enterprise reliability matters more than demo intelligence. The AI Engineer role is quietly becoming a hybrid of: • software engineer • distributed systems engineer • data engineer • ML engineer • platform engineer All combined into one. The engineers growing fastest in 2026 are not the ones chasing every new model release. They’re the ones learning how to build stable systems around unstable models. That difference will matter a lot over the next few years. What part of production AI engineering do you think the industry is still underestimating?

AI is changing cybersecurity in one particularly dangerous way: it is compressing time… Attacks are moving faster. Detection windows are shrinking. And shadow AI is spreading through enterprises faster than most leadership teams can even track it. For India’s high-growth companies, this is no longer just a security issue. It’s quickly becoming an operational one. Which is why I’m looking forward to a private closed-door conversation in Bengaluru on the evening of 13 May with Daniel Bernard, Jonathon Dixon, and Justin Acquaro from CrowdStrike, alongside a curated group of India’s leading CTOs and CIOs, on what security leadership needs to look like in an AI-native world. If you’re a CTO or CIO who believes you can contribute meaningfully to the conversation, you can request an invite through the link in comments.

People are now making a new type of Will - it is called a Living Will, and it can save you from going bankrupt in case God forbid any family member is hospitalised because of a severe illness... The concept of a Living Will is relatively new to India... and the awareness is low at the moment, but Courts want people to be educated on the concept. A Living Will is different from a regular Will that you use to pass on assets to your family members... It is a document in which you state that in case you go through a medical situation, where you are unable to take a decision for yourself or speak for yourself, what procedures should medical professionals be allowed to carry out on you or not... A lot of people have seen loved ones on ventilators for months, and being kept alive through feeding tubes knowing that the chance of recovery is almost negligible or next to nothing, but such long hospitalisation on ventilators keeps draining the family's resources... Nor does it give any true life to the patient... So the Supreme Court through its rulings in 2018, and then subsequently in 2023, made the process of making a Living Will easier... With support from two witnesses, and a medical practitioner, you mention in writing that if you are in a medical situation of a coma or a vegetative state for a few days, where should you be taken care of - should it be at home, or at the hospital... What processes, ventilators, tubes, CPRs, what kind of pain killer medications, dialysis, should be permitted to be used on you... And who will be the person to liaison with the doctors, and in which state should you be allowed to leave. The process should be followed in consultation with a lawyer and a medical professional, and is especially relevant if you have a family member who is old or under medical supervision. #casarthakahuja

Fake silver has entered the Indian market... and the Vaishno Devi Temple has unfortunately been a victim this week... A lot of devotees would buy silver from around Jammu and Katra to offer the Goddess at Vaishno Devi... The Trust had collected around 20 tonnes of silver coins, which they were sending to the government mint to melt and collect money's worth for... They expected to receive over Rs 500 crores in return for it... but turned out that it was only worth Rs 30 crores, as just about 5-6% was silver, while the remaining was Cadmium and Iron based alloys... Investigation has suggested that the devotees were being sold fake silver by jewellers around them. Here are 5 precautions should you take while buying silver so that you don't get conned? 1/ Products called "German Silver", "Nickel Silver", "EPNS" and Silver Plated - are not silver... and most people get fooled by the term Silver being mentioned here 2/ Check for these things on the silver coin - the BIS Triangle Logo, a Purity Mark that says 999, the Hallmarking Centre Mark, the Jeweller's ID, and 6 digit alphanumeric HUID code, which can be verified from the BIS Care app 3/ Do a home test - which includes, a Magnet Test - silver should not stick at all to magnet; an Ice Test - silver is a great heat conductor, so an ice cube kept on silver should melt faster than on any other surface; and a Tissue Test - where you rub a white cloth on an old silver coin and there should be black residue because of oxidation 4/ Demand a Tax Invoice with HUID from the jeweller 5/ Don't buy silver from places around religious sites, tourist spots, or places where it would count as an emotional purchase. And if you wish to buy silver for investment, it may be best to evaluate Silver ETFs in digital form that rest in your demat account than physically hoarding silver. #casarthakahuja

The Jews have a Rule in Business which contributes immensely to their success and it is called the "Rule of Minyan"... A "Minyan" means a "Quorum of 10 People" or the minimum number of people physically needed to make something a success... They believe that your business will be successful if these three things happen... 1/ You can count at least 10 advisors, mentors and close confidants that you can discuss things with, and trust them to give you advice in your benefit... These could be a friend who is a lawyer, an accountant, a peer in the same business, a family member, or a council of advisors you can depend on to brainstorm with. 2/ You need a minimum of 10 stakeholders invested in the business making money - this would include employees, co-founders, investors, vendors, the govt, or at least 10 people who will benefit if the business succeeds 3/ You have minimum 10 people you can count as customers who give you regular recurring business at full price While the requirement of having 10 advisors, 10 stakeholders and 10 customers sounds like a lot to people in their early stage of the business... it is something that is necessary for the business to achieve a flywheel of best wishes and effort from enough people in the community for it to be successful. If you're in the first three years of building your business... sit down and ask yourself if you can make a list of 10 advisors, 10 stakeholders and 10 customers. And if you can't, then it's important that you go and join a business community like BNI, JITO, your college accelerator, or a co-working office, where you can build a community of vendors, advisors, professional peers and customers. Till you build that, the chances of the business taking off are slim. #casarthakahuja

If you have a vacant room in your house, the government is offering incentives under the Incredible India Bed & Breakfast and Homestay Schemes... The Scheme is run by the Centre as well as by the States - and it suggests that any person who has vacant rooms in their house - anywhere between 1 to 6 in number, where the host or home owner also lives in a part of the house... These rooms can be converted to a Bed and Breakfast to host tourists in the state... running it like a business to generate revenue for the home owner as well. So you should have furniture, bed, cleanliness, hot and cold running water... capable to respectably host tourists. The benefits are not directly under the scheme but through allied government programs 1/ PM MUDRA - Collateral free loans of up to Rs 20 Lakhs are available to homestay entrepreneurs 2/ The National Strategy for Promotion of Rural Homestays offers a capital subsidy of 30% of up to Rs 1 lakh per room... up to 6 rooms, and 12 guests in total. 3/ Under PMEGP - The Margin Money needed to be invested while taking a loan is reduced by 15-35%, in convergence with State wise subsidies 4/ Goa offers a one time grant of Rs 2 lakh per eligible home stay... Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya, Uttarakhand, Himachal, Assam The best way to get these incentives is to stack benefits from all these various schemes - collateral free loan, margin money subsidy, capital subsidy, and interest subsidy. There is a NIDHI portal run by the Ministry of Tourism, where you can register your BnB - the registration is voluntary, and not mandatory, but listing there would put you in a government database, where if a delegation is expected to your city or town, it lists your place as an available place to stay at. In certain states like Goa, Sikkim, Himachal and Kerala - a registration with the state authorities is mandatory. It could be a great source of passive income for retirees and homemakers. #casarthakahuja
