Dario Amodei . Bret Taylor . Eugene A. Woods . Tomislav Mihaljevic, M.D. Eric Larsen has been having some of the most thought-provoking conversations in healthcare and AI on his Incumbents and Insurgents podcast, and I was honored to join Tom for the latest episode. The stakes are staggering. Patient outcomes are on the line. Our brilliant physicians are overwhelmed, and the system is stretched. Clinical AI is going to be the step function change in care delivery. Tom and I agreed on the direction, but had a real debate on the how. Tom is leading one of the most innovative institutions in the world. His ability to drive a true organizational shift at Cleveland Clinic was striking, and it was rooted in leadership and conviction, not consensus. As Tom put it, the solution isn't to "let a thousand flowers bloom." Health systems seeing real impact from AI are centralizing governance and making deliberate choices. It means deciding, not debating. Moving forward even when the technology isn't perfect yet. That's easy to say, but incredibly hard to do in practice. Healthcare has been consensus-driven for decades. That is how strategic, lasting innovation happens at scale. Leadership is the variable that matters. And the time for every health system leader to take executive-level ownership of the AI agenda was yesterday. https://lnkd.in/eDWm4h22 #ClinicalAI #AIinHealthcare #HealthcareLeadership #Aidoc
