My name is Graham Kayumo, a self-sponsored student pilot from Lufa District, Eastern Highlands. Growing up, bush flying was always my dream, and my goal has always been to one day serve remote communities through aviation. After 3 years of perseverance, faith, and sacrifice, I completed my Private Pilot License (PPL) in the Philippines. Recently, I received an invitation from Mission Aviation Fellowship for further aviation training in Mareeba, Australia. However, the training requires upfront fees that my family and I cannot currently afford. I find myself at a crossroads: • Return to the Philippines to continue my aviation journey step by step (affordable), or • Pursue this opportunity in Mareeba, Australia (expensive). I will decide which way to go depending on my financial balance at the time. To help continue my aviation journey, I will be hosting a fundraising dish kaikai. 📍 FUNDRAISING SALES 💵 K100 per Dish Kaikai 🍽 Dry Mumu Pig & Chicken + Vegetables + Kaukau + Soft Drinks 📅 Date: 23 May 2026 📍 Venue: Kamaliki Village (8 Mile), Faith Mission Health Area, Goroka, EHP 📞 Contact/WhatsApp: +675 84588354 or +675 72291567 Your support, attendance, advice, mentorship, sponsorship, or any guidance would mean a lot to me as I continue pursuing this dream. I don’t know who might read this, but if anyone is willing to support or guide me in any way, I would deeply appreciate it. Thank you Together we can. #funraising #bushpilot #pngpilot
May 2026One of my teams has a Product Owner position open. It's not often we have an opportunity like this. Before you read the details, here is fine print: We are looking for someone local to the Hanover, MD area. Tempe, AZ or Jacksonville, FL can also count as local. The role is hybrid where there will be in office time required, more than 1, but less than 5. We are NOT working with C2C's or firms. If you are still here, these are the details: This role is responsible for partnering closely with a variety of operating companies and Business Process Owners to identify, design, and deliver solutions that support strategic business goals. The position leads discovery and requirement‑gathering efforts, translates business needs into clearly defined product features, and owns the prioritization of the product backlog to ensure alignment with leadership priorities and product vision. The Product Owner also works collaboratively with cross‑functional teams—including business process, change management, architecture, and development—to deliver integrated solutions across complex systems on accelerated timelines. Success in this role requires strong business acumen, the ability to influence stakeholders, experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments, and the capability to clearly communicate business problems, dependencies, and solution impacts while ensuring high‑quality delivery through testing support and continuous stakeholder engagement. What's important to me? Being able to facilitate large calls with business and IS partners, attention to detail, and importantly be a positive person. Apr 2026Alright everybody, welcome to the Hunter’s Power Hour, where I’ll learn about a fundamental data engineering concept to the point where I could explain it to a five year old. Today, we’re going to discuss ETL (Extract Transform Load) vs. ELT (Extract Load Transform). When performing an ETL, the data is extracted from the source first, then transformed into a usable format in some sort of staging environment, and then loaded into the database. This was a standard process for decades before modern storage capabilities came around. With ELT, data is again extracted first, but it is then loaded into the database in its raw format, and then it is transformed into business ready data. Modern data lake architectures allow both structured and unstructured data to be loaded, giving ELT some advantages over its counterpart. Besides when the data is transformed, there are some differences. With ETL, developers need to know in advance what the users intend to do with the data, as it is transformed before loading. ELT allows a variety of data types to be loaded in directly, so data decisions can be made later on. ELT is also usually quicker, as you don’t have to worry about staging. However, ETL can be better when loading sensitive data, as it is transformed into a secure state before getting in the hands of the users. Both methods have their similarities and differences, but ETL and ELT are both effective systematic approaches that lead to high quality data for downstream users. Next time, we’ll discuss OLTP vs OLAP. Thanks for reading!
Apr 2026Although I’ve been a full time data engineer for over three years now, I recently realized that I could not explain many of the fundamental concepts of data engineering very well… I use and implement these concepts countless times throughout the week, but actually articulating what they are and what they do is a whole different ball game. Thus, I decided to hit the books again. Therefore, I'm ecstatic to announce the introduction to Hunter's Power Hours! Every night, I’ll sit down for an hour and learn enough about a fundamental data engineering concept to the point where I could explain it to a 5 year old. I’m happy to announce that the first Power Hour Topic will be ETL vs. ELT. Stay tuned! Side note, thank you to Shubham Srivastava for creating a list of data engineering topics which are essential to know! Thanks for keeping me honest 😄
Apr 2026Pay attention to what happens when a leader’s name comes up in conversation. Today, I watched a leader I deeply admire step onto a TED stage. And it felt like more than just a talk. It felt like watching someone put into words the way they’ve been showing up for people all along. Because I’ve heard his name come up in conversations for years. And every time it does, something shifts. People smile. People pause. Sometimes… people get emotional. Not because of titles. Not because of achievements. But because of how he’s shown up. He asks about their families by name. He listens in a way that makes people feel like they matter. He carries a level of care that people don’t forget. So watching him today wasn’t surprising. It was confirming. When we talk about humane leadership this is what it looks like. Not something you say. Something you live. And today, he gave people a window into that. I’m proud to know him. And even more proud of the impact he’s had on so many people. If you have a moment, I’d encourage you to watch his talk: https://lnkd.in/eXvBWbUn Because this is what leadership looks like when it’s lived wholeheartedly. And I can't wait to see what wave he rides next! Andrew Hilger #DaughterOfACEO #LeadershipLessons #HumanCenteredLeadership #LeadershipPresence #LeadingWithHeart #LeadershipImpact
Apr 2026This has been quite a busy week. There was the normal stuff. Then there the extra stuff. I had the opportunity to work in the Tulsa TEKsystems office. Seeing how people use the products are building is a very enlightening experience. While it wasnt a gemba walk I did get to see and ask some questions. Credit goes to Mike Brandes for the suggestion and the persistence to make sure it happened. Unexpectedly I had to help my wife in Sunday school for third graders. Nothing is more humbling than a kid isn’t 3 foot tall explain how you could have done something better. But it is great to them learn and figuring out you know what your talking. So by the end of service you have a pack of fans who aren’t toshy to talk with you. Then our church had the annual desert auction to raise money to make the cost of summer camp less expensive. I’m pretty sure I spent more on deserts then I will on sending my son to church camp. Seeing some faces as I outbid them was great. I can’t complain that sometimes others outbid me and saved me some money. Now I’m headed to headquarters in Maryland to take a Situational Leadership II training.
