Apr 2026"We need partners who can represent us appropriately." I had time to think about that one after I wrote it down in my notes. I was talking to a software company evaluating implementation partners. I've known these guys for a while from a past life and know they're building something really good. What stuck with me was this: "Mutual success means both parties make money and gain clients. Not just passing leads back and forth." We take our partner relationships seriously because they directly impact our ability to deliver for clients. So that's exactly how we think about it. We're selective about who we partner with. Not because we're difficult to work with, but because the wrong partnership hurts everyone - us, the vendor, and most importantly the client who ends up in the middle of it. We've walked away from partnerships where the product was solid but the culture wasn't and the incentives were misaligned. Where collaboration meant we generate leads and they collect them. And having worked on the vendor side, I've seen the other side too. Partners with their hand out looking for leads without bringing anything of their own to the table. What we look for is pretty simple. Do they solve a real problem or are they a tool looking for a use case? Are they honest about limitations or do they overpromise and leave us explaining it to the client? Do they want active collaboration or just a referral pipeline? What we bring is equally simple. We make sure the fit is right before we recommend anything. We represent partners honestly, which sometimes means telling a client it's not the right solution even when it costs us the deal. We care more about the client outcome than than anything. What's the hardest part of finding the right partners in this space? Curious what others are navigating.
