Congratulations to Dr. Dana Safavian , Dr. Nemati, and the entire team at Bay Area Hospital on achieving the first AlphaVac PE case in Oregon. This patient presented with progressive shortness of breath over four months, with CT imaging demonstrating a mass in the left interlobar artery. Given the suspected chronic nature of the clot, AlphaVac was selected for its ability to generate significant aspiration force with the 33F funnel. The team was able to seamlessly navigate wirelessly into the left interlobar and mid-segmental branches. With a 10 cc aspiration, the clot was successfully removed. Follow-up angiography showed no residual filling defects. An outstanding example of clinical decision-making, technical execution, and team coordination leading to an excellent patient outcome . Congratulations again to the physicians, staff, and Bay Area Hospital on this milestone achievement and for advancing PE care in Oregon.
