I usually don’t post personal stories on LinkedIn. But a linkedin message made this happen. Last night, I met my school friend Geojo Thykkattle after 35 years. We had studied together in high school in Delhi. We had similar trials and tribulations, some together, some not, during those formative teenage years. We were both the youngest in our class and had to keep playing catch up. Then, after finishing school, life went in completely different directions. And how! I moved across 4 countries. He stayed in Delhi, but built his journey across very different parts of it working across the world from his base. We lost touch along the way. Remember, there were no mobile phones or social media platforms in the 90s. During the intervening years, from time to time, he had looked for me, as I had looked for him through various networks. The last time I had looked was 2020 - I wondered if he was okay during the Covid crisis (I did not even know where he was). Suddenly, his name popped up on a LinkedIn feed in April 2026 so I wrote him a message - “is that you?” He replied: “is that you?” We spoke. Immediately. We met, last night, in Delhi. Straight after my 15hr non-stop flight. Over a kingfisher beer and a chicken tikka - Delhi style. We had never shared a beer before. We had last met when we were 17! But when we met, it didn’t feel like 35 years had passed. No catching up awkwardness. As I woke this morning, jet lagged, our meeting made me think about time and friendships. Most of them belong to a phase of life. School, college, work. When that phase ends, the relationship slowly fades. But a few are different. They come from a time before everything got defined by careers, roles, or where you live. You knew each other in a simpler way. #standbyme comes to mind, and hopefully those who read this will get the reference and smile. Thanks for being there, buddy! Glad we are back together now. And yes - for those reading, please make the time for your friends! Don’t try, do :) Happy Monday!
May 2026Not every Organization and Manager is the same. After my last post on work culture, many people shared negative experiences about leaves and toxic management. But today I also want to appreciate the other side. ❤️ This screenshot is from my own experience with my Manager. Whenever I informed her about health issues or personal situations, the response was simple: “Okay” “Take care” No interrogation. No unnecessary questions. No pressure. And trust me, sometimes just these two words — “Take care” — mean a lot to an employee. A good Manager understands that employees are humans first. Respect, trust, and empathy create a healthy work culture more than any policy document. This is not about one or two incidents. Consistently supportive behavior from leadership is what makes employees feel valued and motivated. Good managers and healthy work cultures still exist — and they deserve appreciation too. 🙌 Prath Technologies Private Limited #WorkCulture #Leadership #EmployeeWellbeing #CorporateLife #GoodManager #HealthyWorkCulture #Management #LinkedInIndia
May 2026In the Loan Against Property (LAP) lifecycle, what truly defines efficiency is not just faster disbursement, but stronger process control across each stage. From lead generation to loan closure, every step — eligibility check, documentation, underwriting, sanctioning, legal validation, and servicing — plays a critical role in maintaining portfolio quality. A few key observations from the LAP lifecycle: • Early-stage eligibility filtering helps reduce unnecessary processing load • Documentation quality directly impacts underwriting TAT • Strong legal & valuation checks are essential for secured lending risk mitigation • Borrower acceptance stage is often underestimated but crucial for conversion • Post-disbursement monitoring (LMS) defines long-term asset quality In my view, organizations that focus equally on process discipline + customer experience + risk control will always outperform in the LAP segment. Would love to hear how others are optimizing their LAP journey across operations, credit, and collections. #LAP #RetailLending #CreditRisk #Operations #NBFC #Banking #LoanLifecycle #ProcessImprovement
