I was proud to represent Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield last week in Washington DC. The new Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Innovation ACCESS model is pushing us to think differently about how we advance value‑based care—through quality, technology, and affordability. Appreciative of the leadership and partnership from Dr. Mehmet Oz, Abe Sutton, the CMMI team and national payer colleagues who are committed to shaping the future of healthcare. Progress happens when we show up, engage deeply, and lead with purpose.
Feb 2026I was in D.C. last week with the American Academy of Family Physicians for the Scaling Whole Health summit—energized by the momentum to make whole-person care the norm, not the exception. The goals were clear: find common ground across care models, surface what helps (and hinders) providers, and leave aligned on actions that expand whole health in primary care. I was honored to serve on a session alongside Bruce Finke, MD, and Hoangmai (Mai) Pham, MD, where we explored what’s working, where value-based arrangements are showing promise, and what needs to change to truly resource primary care. Later, I moderated a panel, bringing diverse perspectives—from health plans, providers, public health, pediatrics, and policy—to react to Day 1 insights and name the “do-now” system hacks that can accelerate progress. I am Proud to represent Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and our commitment to whole-person health. #WholeHealth #PrimaryCare #ValueBasedCare #TeamBasedCare #AAFP #HealthEquity
