OX Security just disclosed a vulnerability in Anthropic's Model Context Protocol that affects 200,000+ AI agent servers and 150 million+ SDK downloads. The flaw exists in official MCP SDKs across Python, TypeScript, Java, and Rust. It enables arbitrary command execution on any vulnerable system. That includes tools your engineering team likely uses every day: Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code. Here's the part that should concern every founder and CHRO. Anthropic says this behavior is "expected" and declined to change the protocol architecture. We're at a strange inflection point. Companies are racing to deploy AI agents across HR, finance, and ops. But the security infrastructure underneath those agents? Still catching up. This is bigger than one vulnerability. Every new AI tool your company adopts is another attack surface your security team didn't audit. ✔️ 200K+ servers exposed, including the most popular AI coding tools ✔️ The protocol vendor called the flaw "expected behavior" ✔️ Most enterprise security teams haven't mapped their AI agent footprint yet If you're evaluating AI tools for your org, this is the question to ask before anything else: does your security team know exactly which AI agents have access to your systems, and what permissions they hold? What's your company's process for vetting AI tools before they touch production data? I'd like to hear how others handle this. Drop it in the comments. #artificialintelligence #aiinhr #futureofwork
