I’m so very proud of this lovely young lady! It’s takes a village and now it’s my turn to help her. I will always pay it forward as there were so many that helped me along my way. My niece just graduated and is starting the large task of finding her first career. She’s driven, smart, coachable and FILLED with grit and determination. If you know anyone who is looking for a beginner in sales or marketing (especially in the Cincinnati area) please reach out to me or directly to her. She would be an amazing addition to any organization!
May 2026⭐ New Episode launches today! We speak to Christian Dominique of AWE about 🙋 Happiness at work. We dive into how the way we think about work influences how we feel about it. In the context of Marie's story in Zebra Apps, we discuss how to overcome limiting beliefs, how to practice acceptance, and the difference between the narrative and experiential self. Together, we go on a 👀 🔍 scavenger hunt for the 4 A's, 8 P's and 7 C's of happiness, which Christian have discovered and defined during his many years of studying the topic across different cultures, countries, and organizations. Our dialogue also delves into character studies from Maneuvering Monday, illustrating the journey of individuals like Shaine (also known from previously podcast guests as the asshole/the intelligent jerk"), Willie (the former convict, later janitor, datacentre specialist, and finally performance artist) and Natalie (the CEO) as they navigate their paths to fulfilment and purpose. 🎧 Listen wherever you get your podcasts, or watch on YouTube. #HappinessAtWork #OvercomeLimitingBeliefs #Acceptance #NarrativeSelf #ExperientialSelf #ScavengerHuntForHappiness #CharacterStudies #PersonalGrowthJourney #FulfillmentAndPurpose
Apr 2026***Notes from a month of brushing my teeth with my non-dominant hand, part I Last year I saw Gioia Arieti ’s post about Mad March where she tries something new every day for a month to fire up her synapses and shake up her habits. I love a behavior experiment, so I commented on the post and thought nothing more of it. … until Gioia pinged me at the beginning of March to ask if I was still in 😅 So throughout March I’ve been trying to get my brain out of its familiar ruts, the purpose being to practice curiosity and humility (in the face of sucking at new things*). I did many things; tried new routes, new restaurants, new dishes, followed whims (like painting my bathroom a color and buying flowers for colleagues), and asked strangers for help with a BHAG I have planned for later this year. As Gioia promised, some experiments became new cherished habits. And others made me so mad. Obviously, I’m talking about brushing teeth with your non-dominant hand 🙈 If you’ve ever tried it, you know how incredibly frustrating it is; awkward, slow, inefficient. You almost feel your dominant hand twitching to take over. I noticed two things: 🪥 First, I wanted to quit instantly. Made me wonder which other things I quit almost before I start because I can’t push past the discomfort of sucking at it. 🪥 Second, I noticed my thoughts circling around how impossible the task was and experimented with asking myself if the thought was true. This left room for noticing that some bits were easier than others. The learnings sound really banale but this was such a tangible example of learning a new skill that I think it will be easier to recall and use going forward. It was a *lot* to do this for a full month and next year I will definitely: 🍋 Do a bit more preparation (thinking of new things every day and doing them is too much brain tax when you also have other projects) 🍋 Find a better balance between bigger and smaller projects (I do new things often which meant I kept negotiating what qualified. Next year the bar will be lower!) 🍋 Do it with a group again, the energy and inspiration from others was such a boost. And no I still can’t beeping brush my teeth with my non-dominant hand. WIP. *I don’t think that’s a Brené Brown quote.. but it feels like one.
