WoW. 68 of 630 my data and AI meetup members RSVP'd for tomorrow night's FREE Data & AI session I host--biggest number since I have host these free sessions of data + AI group learning journey 4 years ago. https://lnkd.in/gG_SXfuJ It is a strong indicator that AI/GAI now really become an core and high demanded skill for all kinds of data and AI professionals. That is I try to use AI to re-shape "modern data stack"- Using Agentic AI for ETL/ELT/BI/CRM on cloud Lakehouse/Data warehouse/Data Lake with build-in AI governances to speed up digital transformation process and cut down costs. In 4 years of running this group, the signal has never been louder -- indicate the ground is shifting. The so called "Modern Data Stack" of 2022 is done. It was ELT-heavy, dashboard-first. Useful for its time. What's working in 2026 looks different: → LLMs are the new compute primitive — but routing, fallback, and cost control will make or break you → Multi-cloud + Australian-hosted — sovereignty matters again → AI Governance is no longer optional — AFSL, AUSTRAC, Privacy Act 2026, NSW AIAF, DTA AI Assurance Do we have an enterprise environment for most of us to learn and practice latest Data and AI? --Snowflake/Databrick/Bedrock/AG2/Claude/OpenAI. you name them -- even in a standalone environment? None or very hard to find... Why, most of us stuck to compliance, risk, permission and/or data quality issues. Sydney engineers aren't here for the demos or the hype. They want the production side — how to run it, govern it, and make it cheap enough to ship. How to handle multiple LLMs, and in what use cases blabla, Happy with share and exchange ideas and experiences, ALWAYS. Tomorrow 8pm AEST — Session 6 of 10: LLMs Deep Dive — Routing, Cost Control & Building Real Apps. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gDNEfnTH #AI #LLM #AIGovernance #DataEngineering #Sydney #datapai

May 2026Ever notice how we rarely think about the plumbing… until something goes wrong? 👀 Financial markets are no different. We get excited about products, volumes, volatility… but what really builds trust is what’s happening quietly in the background - how client positions and collateral are protected when it really matters. In this piece, I explore why client protection isn’t just “compliance” - it’s the foundation of confidence, participation and resilience (and why it’s becoming even more front of mind with CPS 230). 👉 Curious: Do you think client protection is still underappreciated compared to trading innovation? Would love to hear how others are thinking about this shift and any other feedback or thoughts. #Clearing #ClientProtection #CPS230 #MarketInfrastructure #Resilience
May 2026The headline number here should stop leaders in their tracks. In PwC’s AI Performance Study, the most AI‑fit organisations are delivering 7.2x the financial performance of everyone else. And they make up just 20% of companies. That gap isn’t about who has access to the latest tools. It’s about who has moved beyond pilots and hard‑wired AI into how the business operates — pointing it at growth, decisions and reinvention, not just productivity theatre. Thanks Gayan Benedict for your insights and check out our AI Performance Study.

Apr 2026Just under two years into my role at ASX, I’ve been reflecting on the progress we’re making against our technology roadmap. Running systemically important market infrastructure is about more than keeping systems running. It means continually strengthening resilience, fairness, transparency and trust—even when markets are operating well. Over a relatively short period, our Markets Technology teams have deliberately strengthened the foundations of Australia’s financial markets. This includes lifting the resilience and recoverability of core platforms, evolving trading and clearing systems while markets remain live, and materially improving production assurance and operational confidence. What makes this work especially rewarding is the people. I’m incredibly proud to work alongside such capable, committed and thoughtful teams at ASX—people who deeply understand the responsibility that comes with operating public market infrastructure and who care deeply about getting it right. Our delivery model continues to evolve, driven by people who are genuinely hungry to explore new opportunities and leverage emerging technologies, while working closely across Technology, Markets, Cyber, Risk, Legal, Compliance and Finance to safely increase capability and strengthen our offering to the market. Coming from a banking background, the difference is clear. At ASX, technology delivery is optimised for market integrity, fairness, resilience and regulatory confidence. These systems are public market infrastructure, and they demand a different level of care and discipline. I’m proud of what has been achieved so far—and confident these investments will continue to strengthen the markets Australia relies on. #CapitalMarkets #ExchangeTechnology #MarketInfrastructure #OperationalResilience #MarketIntegrity #Clearing #TradingSystems #TechnologyLeadership #ASX
Apr 2026Exactly 12 months ago, I joined ASX with the opportunity to lead the CHESS PMO. Reflecting on the past year, it has been a genuine privilege to work alongside an exceptional team in delivering critical market infrastructure that underpins and supports the Australian economy. Being part of such a significant and complex transformation has been both professionally rewarding and personally meaningful. I am proud to have contributed to an important chapter in ASX’s history and to have played a role in the successful delivery of this landmark initiative. Bring on release 2! My sincere thanks to the many talented people whose dedication, resilience and collaboration made this achievement possible.
Apr 2026Thank you and well done to the very wide range of people involved in the successful CHESS R1 go-live this week. This represents the best of teams working across ASX, as well as teams across the industry, working in close partnership.
Apr 2026It's been a long journey, but this is a huge milestone for the ASX. Proud to be part of the team who have delivered it.
