I am pleased to share that I have successfully completed the NPTEL certification course on "English for Thesis Writing", achieving an Elite certification with a score of 84%.🎉 This course enhanced my understanding of academic and professional writing, covering thesis structuring, research communication, technical documentation, and presenting ideas with clarity and precision. It also improved my ability to organize and communicate research effectively in a professional manner. Completing this course has encouraged me to continue strengthening my communication and writing skills, which are essential for both academic and professional growth. “POLITICIANS WITH VALUES” It was great to catch up today with one of Australia’s most prominent & accomplished parliamentarians - Senator Jacinta Price - whom I have had the pleasure of meeting previously. I am a huge fan. I am also a huge fan of Colin Lillie, Jacinta’s husband. Everyone knows Senator Jacinta Price was the central political figure who successfully argued for the defeat of The Voice Referendum & its central proposition - the Division of Australia into Two (2) Groups of people with different rights depending on whether one’s skin colour was Black or White. The very notion was an affront to the DNA of the Australian People & the people comprehensively said “No Thanks” across the country. Without Jacinta Price’s strong & intellectually reasoned arguments, the Big Money of the big end of town may well have won over. Corporate Australia’s endorsement - and cash - of the Voice Referendum was disgraceful. What most Australians might not know is that Jacinta’s husband was perhaps even more passionate than Jacinta, if that is possible, on ensuring the Referendum’s defeat. Born in Scotland but now a proud Aussie who met Jacinta in 2008 - Colin was absolutely resolute in his belief that The Voice to Parliament was not what he believed represented the values of Australia when he landed in Alice Springs. He did not see families divided by racial privileges - as a successful Referendum would have divided his own family and with Jacinda. They were afterall a blended family of black & white!Colin did not see Black and White governed under different laws with special access or privilege anchored on skin colour. He did not see Victims. He saw Australians that needed their political representatives to step up & solve problems based on need - not on Skin Colour. Colin saw one country with opportunities for everyone if you worked hard, got an education & contributed to bringing people together under the one National Flag. In today’s world of truly Spineless Political Leaders & politicians - thank goodness there are some still like Senator Jacinta Price. One might not agree with her political views - but those who do not should ask whether they prefer the absolute waffle, deception, electoral bribes & complete garbage dished out by so many of those who lack courage & fortitude. With Colin right beside Senator Price, the good Senator’s best political contribution to our country remains ahead of her. It is a privilege to know her - and now to have met Colin! DRUMBEAT OF FUTURE WAR: Here’s a question for all Australians to ponder!! It is 2039. The Great Power rivalry of the early 21st Century reflected in the proxy conflicts of Russia’s attack on Ukraine & America’s attack on Iran has exploded into bolder acts on both sides. The territorial aggression of the Dictatorships & Theocracies of the world go into overdrive. The storm clouds are forming. The times eerily look & feel just like 1939, a century earlier. The drumbeat of war is growing louder. The Big Authoritarian Powers of the world have pushed the envelope of diplomatic restraint. Democracies in the Pacific have been overun with the armed forces of certain Dictatorships brazenly asserting their military might. In the most confronting challenge to Global Peace, a notable Self-Governing democracy in Asia has been bombed. The international community has been on the verge of collapse for decades. Now it has fallen. All Diplomatic Norms have been ignored. Australia is drawn into the conflict. Outlandish scenario? Not plausible? Don’t bet on it Australia. Will we be in a position of Strength & Self-Reliance in 2039? This was at the heart of the ECF’s Panel Discussion last Friday. And what a Panel it was to share their thoughts for a Compelling Audience & a Full House. The confidence of the panel was not high. Hopeful is probably a better word. Will we be a nation on our knees wishing we had learnt the lessons of a Global Pandemic Two (2) Decades earlier & an Energy Security Crisis 15 years earlier. Will we have enough critical infrastructure & lethality in our military capability to preserve our sovereignty? Or will we be a people in complete panic realising successive weak governments have led us to vulnerability. The Big Decisions - or lack thereof - in & around Defence Investment by our Federal Government today will help shape the sovereign strength of our country in the decades ahead that will in turn shape how much influence we have over our destiny.
