Thank you to all who joined us for our New York office client reception at Refinery Rooftop. We were delighted the rain held off for us to gather in such a beautiful space. A wonderful opportunity to meet new people and reconnect with friends. Congratulations to NY OMP Robert Boller and our events team including Kelsey Witucki (Schweibert) and Chelsea Seidel for another successful event. Note: Pics were taken before guests arrived 😊
May 2026Had a great time welcoming clients, alumni, and friends to our new Wilmington space. If you were not able to make it to this event, let me know if you'd like to come take a tour!
May 2026Took some time this afternoon to present on “Delay Claims” alongside one of my favorite lawyers, Kellen Patterson . We discussed key legal considerations in both defending and asserting delay claims, as well as the critical role forensic schedule experts play in complex litigation. I love this quote from AACE, “Forensic schedule analysis… is both a science and an art.” Choose your experts wisely! Thanks for getting me away from my desk for the fun afternoon, Geoff Palachuk and The Seminar Group !
May 2026“Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water!” Jaws 2 When it was announced in December of last year that former CFPB Director Rohit Chopra had been appointed to head the new Consumer Protection and Affordability Working Group of the Democratic Attorneys General Association, there was a collective sigh of relief from those in the industry that Rohit ended up in that position. I extended an invitation to DAG for Rohit or someone else to appear on our weekly podcast show, Consumer Finance Monitor, to discuss the agenda and goals of the Working Group. Crickets! But, yesterday, Governor Gavin Newsom appointed Rohit as Secretary of a cabinet-level new super-agency responsible for managing consumer protection issues for the Governor. This includes the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation. Think CFPB Redux! See our blog which explains this in detail. https://lnkd.in/eX735sn6 . The ante has just been raised.

May 2026The #Colorado #AI Act amendment has finally passed. A lot to unpack in a great post by Mudasar Pham-Khan, Lexi Chapman , Kelsey Fayer , and J. Matt Thornton .
May 2026as a budding user of AI in a support, boost, head-start capacity, I'm all the more convinced of the middle ground. Supporting evidence is that HAL2000 lacked opposable thumbs.
May 2026As Brianna Ricque' Howard and Mudasar Pham-Khan explain, if the governor signs, Alabama is set to join the ranks of states with a comprehensive #privacy law - but with a low threshold and a few interesting features.
