After my 5th year co-chairing this day for ~50 of the brightest high school Juniors in Palm Beach County, I have to say a huge Thank You to everyone who makes it happen. This year Leadership Palm Beach County GROW combined "Business Day" and "Marine Industries Day", and it was incredible. I got so much great feedback already from the kids, and volunteers. First, what does this day look like? After The Breakers Palm Beach sent us on the bus with breakfast, we took the kids to visit Viking Yacht Company , Valhalla Yachts, and Tropical Shipping at the Port of Palm Beach . Great presentations by their teams - its amazing what goes on right in our backyard that most of us don't realize. Back to the Breakers for a Business Etiquette Lesson with Lee Williams , Davicka N. Thompson, Ray Ellis , Betsy Silverfine , and Jo Anne Davis volunteering. Cheat code: Bread left, drink right, outside in on the silverware! The Breakers Palm Beach is the most incredible partner, putting us up every year, fine dining for 70 of us (twice), helping us plan and execute (IT, Logistics, support, etc. etc. etc. Jennifer Reichert, Jake Zimmerman , Tricia Taylor and their entire team are AMAZING! We couldn't do this without them. They gave the kids a behind the scenes tour of this world renowned resort, and the ones I spoke with loved it. Next, our Committee Member, Kristen Bardin from Business Development Board of Palm Beach County, Inc. gave some incredible data about the economic boom our county is experiencing. Wall Street South stats are impressive.
