Most companies are investing in AI. Far fewer are turning that investment into measurable business value. On 28 May, I’ll be joining the #BSCConnects Summer AI Wave roundtable in Barcelona to discuss what is actually changing in the AI landscape and what it means for corporates in 2026. 📅 28 May 2026 🕰️ 17:00 – 19:30h 📍 Pier07 Tech Barcelona Terrace (6th Floor) If this interests you, please RSVP here: https://lnkd.in/eDdeRgwa Together with: @ Esteve Almirall – Professor of Innovation, AI & Smart Cities and Director of the IIK-CIC Center for Innovation in Cities @Diego Perino – Director of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center AI Institute we will explore the AI and Technology landscape in 2026 and its impact on corporates. Hosted by #BSCConnects , this event will bring together senior executives, innovation leaders, start-ups, and researchers for: * Strategic insights from leading experts * Open discussion on AI adoption and business impact * Cross-sector exchange with senior leaders * Networking, food, and drinks overlooking incredible 360° views of Barcelona! BUT that´s not it, we end the roundtable with a BIG SURPRISE for BSC Connects! And some exciting, and fun games to enjoy the evening while networking!! If you are working at the intersection of technology, innovation, and business, I believe you will find this terrace highly relevant and refreshing. Looking forward to connecting with many of you at the terrace! #BSCConnects #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #Innovation #Technology #QuantumComputing #Leadership #Barcelona #TechBarcelona
May 2026It's been several months since I joined the Barcelona Supercomputing Center , and I couldn't be happier to share the preprint of my first author paper! 📘 "Quantum Metropolis–Hastings via Penalised Qubitized Walks: Spectral Filtering and Circuit Implementation" is now on arXiv! https://lnkd.in/e4HUTe5z ⚛️ The Metropolis-Hastings algorithm is a cornerstone of Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods, underpinning a wide range of applications in computational physics, Bayesian inference, and machine learning. Quantum variants of Metropolis-Hastings promise accelerated mixing through quantum walks, but their practical realisation remains challenging. In this work, we construct and simulate an explicit circuit level implementation of a quantum Metropolis-Hastings algorithm based on the framework introduced by Claudon et al. (arXiv:2506.11576). We present the full quantum workflow required to prepare a stationary distribution, including a number of modifications required to make the algorithm implementable in a realistic quantum circuit model. Our results demonstrate that these modifications are essential to recover the correct stationary behaviour and highlight both the potential and current limitations of quantum Metropolis-Hastings algorithms, which are expected to become practically relevant in the fault tolerant quantum computing regime. You can find the documentation and project repository in this link: https://lnkd.in/ePY95d38 A huge thank you to Rosa M. Badia and Artur Garcia-Saez for your support, guidance, and collaboration throughout the project!
