Benelux road trip is a wrap! Had the amazing opportunity to present at the Barracuda Secured event in the Netherlands, and to meet our partners and customers in person across Netherlands and Belgium. The person next to me needs no introduction. But for those who are not football fans, this is John Harbaugh, Head Coach of the New York Football Giants, who I had the pleasure of meeting at the Tines event. Here is the funny part. I have always been a huge fan of his brother Jim, who once coached my beloved 49ers. That is where I first heard the phrase that defines this family: "Who's got it better than us?" It started with their father Jack and has been passed down through the Harbaugh family, carried into every locker room they have led across college football and the NFL. So when I had my moment, I asked John that exact question. He jumped out of his seat, threw his hand in the air, and shouted: "NOBODY!" I followed with one more question. There are a lot of leaders in this room. Why does that message matter so much to you, and what can we as leaders take away from it? His answer stuck with me. To paraphrase: we all have so many things in our lives, big and small, that we never stop to realize how good we actually have it. That question is a daily reminder, and it should fuel us every single day, no matter what field we are on. That is the leadership lesson I walked away with. Gratitude is not soft. It is fuel. The best leaders do not wait for perfect conditions to bring energy. They choose to see what they have instead of what they lack, and they make that mindset contagious for their teams. So whether you lead a football team, a security operations center, or a company, ask your team this week: Who's got it better than us? And mean it when you answer: Nobody.
