I’m usually very reluctant to appear in photos, but I finally met my colleague Maciej Goraj in person (Global Solution Director – Cyber security) — he joined us at CyberTek in Katowice, now in its second and final day. As usual, Tekniska put on a professional event, and I even had a visit from CyberTek’s mascot at the booth (Maciej is not green). I’m already looking forward to next year’s CyberTek, and Westermo Network Technologies will of course be one of the sponsors. Back to cyberspace!
May 2026Something special arrived recently - an AWS Community South Africa Coin. 🪙 Only 100 of these exist, and receiving one is a reminder of why community matters so much in tech. The AWS community in South Africa is a remarkable thing. It's people giving their time freely, sharing what they know, and creating spaces where others can grow. A big thank you to Hennie Francis for this recognition, alongside the additional coins awarded to BBD and another to Megan Glasby . #AWS #AWSSouthAfrica #AWSCommunity #CloudCommunity #BBD
May 2026Tekniska is currently hosting its annual CyberTek conference in Katowice, with a primary focus on cybersecurity in industrial networks. As a proud sponsor, Westermo Network Technologies is represented by my colleagues, Peter Ahlström & Henrik Envall , who are at the booth eagerly welcoming the nearly 400 registered participants. There is also a live demo area where we are showcasing the advantages of using GNS3 for virtual simulations of various network applications. Now, back to cyberspace!"
May 2026I’m at #DevConf jhb today experiencing the most first world problem ever: I forgot my laptop’s keyboard at home 😂😂. If you’re at the conference, come check out my talk at 15:25 where we’ll build a feature rich, offline-capable, agentic ai orchestration solution that runs entirely in the browser because…. #JavaScript !
May 2026🚀 Diving Deep into Playwright's Self-Healing Locators! 🚀 This is a feature I've been hearing a lot about, and I'm genuinely curious: Are self-healing locators in Playwright a game-changer, or just a clever trick? 🤔 I'm starting to explore how they work—how they automatically detect when an element's selector is flaky and try to repair it on the fly to keep tests running. It sounds like magic for improving test stability, but I have questions! • How do they really work under the hood? What algorithms or heuristics are they using? • Are there any risks? Could a 'healed' locator end up selecting the wrong element, leading to false positives? • What are the practical limitations? Are they best for certain types of applications or locator strategies? • How can we best leverage them? Are there best practices for when to rely on them vs. when to use more robust selectors from the start? I'm still in the early stages of my exploration, but I'm excited to see where this leads. Has anyone else been experimenting with self-healing locators in Playwright? I'd love to hear about your experiences, challenges, and insights! Let's discuss. 👇 #Playwright #TestAutomation #WebDevelopment #SelfHealingLocators #SoftwareTesting #ContinuousTesting #E2ETesting #AutomationTips
May 2026A very relevant perspective from our Global CEO, Eduardo Del Riego. In logistics, visibility is important, but visibility alone is no longer enough. The real value comes when data, payments, cargo movement, and execution are connected in real time. This is especially relevant as markets continue to demand faster, more secure, and more transparent cargo payment solutions. AI will play an important role not just in providing insights, but in helping businesses act on those insights with greater speed and confidence. At PayCargo , this connection between data, payment assurance, and execution is where I believe the real transformation in logistics can happen.
May 2026What a week. I’m back home after another incredible #NDCConf in Sydney where I spoke about the newer, less known and underutilised browser APIs such as WebGPU for browser based AI workloads and the file systems access API that gives you secure direct access to users’d file system to manipulate files. Also, working 8hrs ahead of the rest of our teams was maddening. How are you all managing teams and projects across vastly different time zones?
Apr 2026I’m at #NDCSydney where Microsoft ‘s Asia CTO for financial services sector, Chris Auld jus gave a keynote where he spoke about ontologies being the missing link between LLMs and the real world. Great example on KYC projects and how working on our ontological links in our data model may provide more reliable outcomes and even limit costs.
Apr 2026Heeeyyyy, look, it’s me at the CTICC. I’ll be presenting on what we, at BBD , call the Cloud Clarity ARC. If you sometimes get surprised (read terrified) by your cloud bill, don’t have confidence in the uptime of your infrastructure, or are tired of service interruptions on your platforms, attend this talk at Converge Africa and I’ll walk you through how BBD ‘s Cloud division addresses these concerns using our propriety Cloud Clarity ARC framework.
