It was great to be part of the CFO Summit hosted by CFO South Africa in Cape Town on 16 April 2026. The role of the CFO is changing and becoming more pivotal in ensuring responsible financial spend and ROI, in the brutal onslaught of investment in AI and emerging technology.
Apr 2026I am happy to announce that I have achieved a major milestone in my career. I have successfully completed the Audit Development Programme (ADP) with The Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors , and I am now officially eligible to register as a Registered Auditor. I want to thank Moore Infinity for the opportunity that they have provided me, to pursue and to achieve this goal.
I thought transitioning from audit into industry would mainly be about applying what I already knew. I was wrong. What surprised me most is how much the role shifts from reviewing the past to shaping what comes next. In audit, you’re trained to question, challenge, and validate. In industry, you’re expected to own, decide, and improve. It’s not just a change in role—it’s a change in mindset. I’m learning that: • There isn’t always a “right answer”—just informed decisions • You need to balance accuracy with speed • And your work directly impacts business outcomes, not just reports It’s been uncomfortable at times—but that’s where the growth is. For anyone who has made the move from audit to industry… What caught you off guard the most? #CareerGrowth #FinanceProfessionals #Accounting #LearningJourney #ProfessionalDevelopment
