May 2026A genuinely important question that doesn't get enough airtime. Many of us built our judgment the hard way — running reports nobody read, loading rates at midnight, sitting in strategy meetings where we understood maybe 60% of what was being discussed. That repetition wasn't busywork. It was how our mental models got built. Humans learn to crawl before they can walk and run a marathon. You can't shortcut the developmental sequence — you can only pretend you did, until something breaks. What concerns me isn't AI doing the entry-level work. It's that we're removing the environment where pattern recognition develops — and replacing it with tools that assume it already exists. The junior analyst handed AI outputs on day one can produce impressive-looking work immediately. What they can't do yet is know when it's wrong. That gap is invisible until it isn't. The organizations that get this right won't just adopt AI. They'll deliberately redesign how judgment gets built — treating critical interrogation of AI outputs as the new grunt work, not an afterthought. The ones that don't will find out later. And later is expensive. Thank you for an insightful perspective Prof. Sherri Kimes #AI #FutureOfWork #Leadership #TalentDevelopment #Judgment #RevenueManagement #OperationalExcellence
May 2026Everyone keeps asking the wrong question about AI and travel. "Will AI replace travel executives?" is not the question. The right question: who is building the operating systems that AI will actually run on? Because here's what I know from 15 years inside the world's largest travel marketplaces — AI doesn't replace operational design. It amplifies it. Give it a well-structured pricing framework, it optimizes faster. Give it clean supplier data, it personalizes better. Give it a broken cost structure and misaligned incentives? It scales the chaos. The executives who are going to thrive in this shift aren't the ones defending against AI. They're the ones who understand that the frameworks they've been building — marketplace economics, supplier relationships, customer experience measurement — are exactly the infrastructure AI needs to function. This is a moment to lead, not adapt. For those of you in airline or travel tech operations: where are you seeing the biggest readiness gaps? #TravelIndustry #AIStrategy #OperationalLeadership
Apr 2026Travel brands are about to learn a painful lesson. If an AI agent is making the booking decision — and it will — your checkout UX doesn't matter anymore. Your data does. And neither does your brand creative, your hero imagery, or your carefully A/B tested trust signals. What does matter? Customer reviews. Social proof. The signals that AI agents will use to evaluate credibility and quality on your behalf — because that's what travelers increasingly rely on, and agents are learning from them. The new battleground is machine-readable signals. Inventory quality. Pricing logic consistency. Policy clarity. Cancellation rules that an AI can actually parse and compare at scale. 20 years in the industry have taught me one thing: experience beats efficiency every time. The partners that consistently won on major platforms weren't the ones gaming algorithms — they were the ones obsessing over delivering and communicating a great experience. That gap is about to become existential. The travel companies investing in agentic commerce readiness right now aren't polishing their homepages. They're rebuilding their data architecture. Are you building for the traveler — or the agent booking on their behalf? #TravelTech #AICommerce #MarketplaceOperations

Apr 2026Conference #1 of the day, hosted by Archer iQ Technologies Limited , a company offering genAI solutions specifically targeted for compliance and enterprise risk management. So much fun to be among my own kind! Based on their experience implementing these solutions for national and global organizations, here are their six lessons for successful implementations, failures to avoid, and key takeaways: Start with Business Outcomes: —Tie AI to measurable KPIs —Avoid vague goals —Focus on workflow impact Data Readiness: —Data quality issues —Unstructured data challenges —60–70% effort is data Human-in-the-Loop: —AI augments humans —Build trust —Enable feedback loops Change Management: —User resistance —Trust issues —Training gaps Start Small: —Focus on 1–2 use cases —Prove ROI —Scale gradually Governance: —Define ownership —Monitor performance —Align with compliance Common Failure Patterns: —AI-first mindset —Data underestimation —Ignoring adoption —No ownership Key Takeaways: 1. Use Case + Data + Adoption + Governance 2. Start small 3. Keep humans involved
Apr 2026Enjoyed being a panelist on a recent AccountsRecovery.net webinar. “What is Your Risk Profile?” In financial services, having good documentation of how you analyzed your requirements and risks and about the controls you put in place to manage them, is a value-add, not a drag on the bottom line. It’s a revenue protector and a revenue driver. Here’s a short clip from the webinar.
