Apr 2026A few insightful days at #EHRA2026 in Paris and this is clear: we are no longer data-poor. We are insight-poor. In atrial fibrillation, the scale of data from continuous ECG and wearables is already massive. 560 million smartwatch owners generating millions of monitoring days. The challenge is no longer collecting data. It is making it clinically meaningful. Accuracy is not enough. Real-world noise, false positives and alert fatigue still stand between data and decisions. Trust will define adoption. Explainability, robust data and clinical context are not optional. These matter not just to clinicians, but to patients. At Bittium this is exactly the space we work in. High-quality data only matters if it leads to clinical action. The direction is clear. The responsibility is to make sure it delivers for patients. #EHRA2026 #AtrialFibrillation #MedTech #CardiacMonitoring
Apr 2026The European Heart Rhythm Association - EHRA congress in Paris was refreshing this year. Strong science, great conversations, and a real sense that the field is moving fast. One theme dominated the scientific sessions: AI in cardiac monitoring. Not AI replacing cardiologists, but AI helping them analyse large volumes of ECG data faster and more accurately than was previously possible. But one thing stood out to me. AI is only as good as the data you feed it. If the ECG recording is noisy or full of interference, the algorithm will still give you an answer. It just won't be the right one. Think of it like a voice recognition system. It works perfectly in a quiet room. Put it in a noisy environment and it starts making mistakes, not because the software is bad, but because the input is poor. Long-term ECG monitoring is exactly that noisy environment. Patients move, sleep, exercise, shower. Every source of movement is a potential source of interference in the signal. This is why the quality of the recording device matters as much as the algorithm reading it. The Bittium Faros is consistently chosen as the reference device in peer-reviewed cardiac research; the benchmark other devices are measured against, precisely because of the reliability of its signal. Better data. Better AI. Better outcomes.
Apr 2026This week I’m attending the EHRA Congress in Paris together with colleagues from Bittium, following the latest developments in cardiac rhythm management, ECG analytics, and digital cardiology. It’s inspiring to see how clinical research, technology, and real‑world healthcare needs come together here. Great discussions around innovation, data quality, and how digital solutions can better support clinicians and patients. If you’re at EHRA or interested in ECG technologies and digital health solutions, feel free to connect or stop by for a chat. #EHRA #Bittium #DigitalHealth #Cardiology #ECG #MedTech #Paris
