I first got involved in schedule risk analysis nearly 25 years ago on the Type 45 programme (I'm not that old...), building models that made reference to "Bernoulli" equations and "Monte Carlo" analysis as the great team I worked within tried to determine when we'd deliver the first platform into service. If you ever wondered how all this related to scheduling, then the Association for Project Management Planning Monitoring and Control Interest Network article available via the link below is worth a 5 minute read. May 2026And this is why I tested out as an Elf with the @HallofHeroes https://lnkd.in/eJmQHHSG (Fab lil geeky community FYI) I’m all about the people and the silver lining hunting and the self care which is MIGHTY :D
May 2026Great to see a strong showing from BMT in the latest edition of The Naval Architect. Our 35m MPA Guardian features within our vessel design portfolio, which now showcases over 80 designs — spanning early concepts through to vessels in service: https://lnkd.in/eG_TJR8s It’s a portfolio that reflects the breadth of what we do, covering everything from government & security platforms through to ferries, crew transfer vessels and many more. Always encouraging to see the work of the team recognised — and a reminder of the depth of capability we bring across naval architecture while recognising it’s just one part of the much broader expertise across BMT .
May 2026My thanks to Amy McLellan and Royal Institution of Naval Architects for this interview covering safety of future fuels. Safety is critically fundamental to ensuring adoption of the fuel mix onboard. There are other significant challenges but keeping people safe should be number 1. I’m always open for discussions and supporting people/companies on this journey. Feel free to reach out. #RINA #FutureFuels #MaritimeNetZero

Apr 2026FYI - UK NCSC CEO's Blog Post on retaining defensive advantage in the age of frontier AI cyber capabilities - 'As AI accelerates vulnerability discovery, organisations must raise their security baselines to safeguard their cyber security. A step change in frontier AI models’ capabilities to find vulnerabilities in code can ultimately be a good thing for our cyber security. Suppliers of technology can use AI to identify and fix vulnerabilities in their products and services throughout their lifecycles, keeping customers and users safe from new threats. But the path to reaching this point brings significant risk and requires urgent action' - https://lnkd.in/e6mdm-nA #NCSC #FrontierAI #CyberCapabilities #cybersecurity
