New Chapter: I’ve joined Nomupay as Chief Business Officer. When I was exploring my next move, the advice I heard most often centred around three themes: · AI capabilities (including agentic commerce) · Emerging hyper-growth market sectors · High-growth, complex markets Nomupay was an exciting prospect, because they aren’t just talking about these opportunities—they are already executing against them. There’s a lot of hype around AI and agentic commerce. What stood out at Nomupay is that AI isn’t a bolt-on feature—the entire platform & product architecture is designed to be accessed by AI agents through MCPs. That was a real revelation: being ‘AI-first’ is not only about the agents you build internally; it’s about how you let partners’ agents safely access your systems and assemble capabilities as modular building blocks—so they can implement what they need, in the way they need it. Last month Nomupay was one of only eight companies—and the only payments company—invited to the AWS Summit in London to showcase how Nomupay is delivering AI-driven innovation in payments today. ( https://lnkd.in/e7Bdg5cz ) This engagement model has made Nomupay a go-to partner in several hyper-growth sectors, including: · Next-gen e-commerce (social commerce) · Creator Platforms & Streaming · Digital games · Fintech services · EPOS/ UPOS Outside of agentic commerce the future of payments isn’t just online or in-store, it’s unified commerce. EPOS/ UPOS merchants/providers increasingly expect one platform, one integration, one reconciliation layer, and one partner across every channel and country. Nomupay enables merchants, software platforms and EPOS/ UPOS providers to embed: · Cross-border acquiring · Local payment methods · Pay-ins and payouts · Multi-market settlement and treasury · In-store and e-commerce payments through a single ecosystem. In other words: “From checkout to cashflow - one integration.” Nomupay are growing because they recognised early that much of the next wave in payments is being driven from Asia. With licences & infrastructure across Hong Kong, China, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore (plus Japan via its SoftBank investment); combined with its licences in Europe and the Middle East, Nomupay are well placed to support key cross-border corridors for e-commerce and in-store payments. I’m still drinking from the firehose—there’s a lot to learn—but if you’d like to understand what Nomupay could unlock for your business, message me. I’m happy to connect you with the team.
May 2026Spent the past weekend at the London edition of Future Romania - three days of workshops, debates, and honest conversations about where the country is headed, alongside 100 people who all turned up for the same reason. I've spent the last 12 years building a life in the UK, so I came into the weekend slightly unsure about what I'd take from it. What I didn't expect was how much the weekend would reframe that question. You don't need to be physically home to contribute, you can do it from wherever you are, in your own way, with the skills and network you've built. Tianu was the standout for me. He spoke about leadership and purpose in a way that felt less like a presentation and more like a genuine challenge to the room. One line from him stuck with me and captured the spirit of the weekend: "Don't do what you can, do what you must do." And Brâncuși once said something in the same spirit: things aren't difficult to do, what's difficult is putting yourself in the state to do them. This weekend was the nudge into that state, and what follows is on me and on the people I end up working with. Thank you to Adrian Vintila , Oana Babagianu, and the team for putting together something this well-considered, and to the speakers - Sebastian Burduja , Ambassador to the UK Laura Popescu , Alessandra Stoicescu and Remus Ioan S. - for the depth they brought. FIRED UP, READY TO GO 🚀

If mobile wallets and A2A bank payments have become the dominant form of local payment in Asia, where does that leave mobile operators? I will be speaking with Guillermo Escofet at the MEF Leadership Forum APAC on the different ways mobile operators are still well placed to deliver unique value to digital merchants seeking growth in the region.
