For the first time ever the men’s and women’s TDF Grand Depart will take place in the same country, and it was a pleasure yesterday attend the launch of Stage 3 of the Femme, an 18km time-trial around London taking in all the major landmarks. With millions of spectators expected across all 6 stages, it will be the largest free-to-watch sporting event in UK history. British Cycling ’s Tracy Power did an excellent job bringing to life the JOY programme, the social impact project embedding community at the heart of the Grand Depart focussing on: • Tackling inactivity and improving mental wellbeing • Making Britain more productive and prosperous • Supporting communities to thrive To get involved reach out to the British Cycling team. 👏 Jon Dutton OBE Darren Henry Lucy Jones
Apr 2026If the RLWC 2021 taught me one thing, it’s that sport is about so much more than what happens on the field of play; it’s about the legacy and social impact it leaves behind in our communities. 🤝✨ That’s why I am so incredibly pleased to be joining the British Cycling Foundation. The opportunity to contribute to this mission and help change lives through the power of cycling is a true honour. 🚲🌍 I can’t wait to dive in alongside the chair Marian Lauder and fellow trustees Douglas Thomson , Joanna Rowsell MBE OLY AMRSB , Katharine F. Steven Day and Chris McAtee guided by the leadership of the outstanding Tracy Power along with James Price , Daisy Newsham and Eve Nicholson . Let’s get started! 🚀🇬🇧 🚴🚴
Apr 2026I’m really looking forward to being part of this Sports Governance Academy panel and as part of a wider networking event. The topic is particularly relevant and really hits home as I work with an excellent Steering Group — and previously an equally brilliant Strategic Advisory Group — to lead the shaping, refining and embedding of British Cycling ’s Future Fit Governance. 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 is an absolute non‑negotiable in this work — intentionally underpinned by authenticity, care and genuine collaboration, grounded in insight and evidence, and sharpened by constructive challenge from some really astute minds who bring so much. Let's turn it round... 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝𝐧’𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲?! What I love about these events is the opportunity to connect, listen and learn from others who are engaging deeply with these questions and bringing a huge amount to the table themselves. Sharing what good looks like in practice (and where it’s harder than expected) is how we all move forward. If you’re attending, please do say hello — I’d love to compare notes and continue the conversation. And if you’ve not signed up yet*, here’s what you need to do… what’s not to like on a wonderful Wednesday in sunny Manchester! 📅 Wednesday 29 April 2026 🕠 17:30–20:30 📍 Clayton Hotel Manchester City Centre 🔗 Register: https://lnkd.in/gNbkt3hC *This event is open to individuals who work, volunteer or are looking to join the UK Sports & Physical Activity sector. #SportsGovernance #StakeholderEngagement #FutureFit #LeadershipInSport #LearningTogether #SGA
Apr 2026Almost twelve months on from the launch of the British Cycling strategy, which set out a clear ambition to drive social impact and tackle inequality, I am proud to see another major milestone come to life. To truly tackle inequality, we have to meet people where they are. That is why we are officially launching Lloyds ReCycle Hubs across the UK—giving donated bikes a new life and putting them into the hands of those who need them most. 🚲♻️ Huge credit to our social impact team at British Cycling Foundation for scaling this following our successful pilot. It is a vital step in our story as we work to bring the joy of cycling to everyone. We aren't just building bike workshops; we are building a more inclusive society.
