Jul 2026Last week we brought together colleagues and partners from across nine countries in Hyderabad, India, to accelerate an important mission: scaling high-impact digital skills training for women's digital inclusion under the CABI PlantwisePlus programme. This workshop was a powerful example of what collaboration across geographies can achieve. Teams from Nepal, Ghana, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Uganda shared valuable lessons from their first year of implementation, helping to shape and strengthen the approach for Kenya, India, Sri Lanka and Zambia as they begin their journey. Together, we aligned on the training approach, grounded in CABI Academy’s digital skills resources and locally-based Gender Technical Working Groups. We also set clear ambitions to scale - reaching more farmers via more community-based intermediaries, and ultimately improving access to digital tools to create more opportunities for women farmers. The workshop concluded by collaborating with local partners MANAGE (National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management) Hyderabad to meet women farmers and hear directly about their experiences. Many spoke about limited access to face-to-face training, digital tools, and agricultural advice. It reinforced why this work matters: building digital skills isn’t about technology or gaining reach metrics for specific tools - it’s about unlocking access, opportunity, and better livelihoods. Looking forward to the impact this initiative can help create - strengthening gender inclusion, accelerating digital transformation, and expanding access to practical, farmer-focused advice. #DigitalInclusion #GenderEquality #Agriculture #DigitalTransformation #CapacityBuilding #PlantwisePlus #Collaboration Malvika Chaudhary Madhu Manjari Dora Shimbwambwa Violet Ochieng' Ganeshamoorthy Rajendran Manju Thakur Dr Kavita Mishra Mahesh H M Abdul Rehman Dilruba Sharmin Caroline Aliamo Birgitta Oppong-Mensah Owembabazi Lillian Dr Muhammad Naeem Aslam Andela Kangwa CABI Veenita Kumari Pragati Shukla Dr.Naresh Kethavath
May 2026Day 2 at CYBERUK 2026, Glasgow Attending CYBERUK for the first time has been really worthwhile. The National Cyber Security Centre’s flagship event brings together a wide range of voices and over the past couple of days we’ve heard from speakers offering fresh, sometimes challenging perspectives on the cyber landscape. One theme has come through loud and clear - the pace and scale of change is accelerating. We are not just seeing incremental shifts, we are in the midst of a fundamental transformation in how threats emerge and evolve. As a result, resilience and preparedness are no longer optional, they are essential. A key takeaway for me is that human-speed responses are no longer enough in the face of increasingly automated attacks. Defenders need to adapt just as quickly, or risk falling behind. What has been particularly valuable is the focus on bridging the gap between policy and practice. It’s one thing to define strategy, but delivering it effectively requires alignment across people, process and technology. Across the sessions, there’s also been a strong emphasis on collaboration. Building resilience, whether at a national or organisational level, isn’t just a technical challenge, it’s a shared mission. Great conversations, insightful sessions and plenty to take away.
