One year in. And I'm just getting started. This week, I had the privilege of gathering with our Board, our leadership team, and incredible colleagues in Cincinnati, the heartbeat of @CBTS. Townhalls like this remind me why I took this role: the energy in that room wasn't about looking back. It was about what we're building together. A year goes fast when you're in motion. What I've learned most is that the people here, across every team, every market, every client relationship — are the differentiator. Not the technology. Not the strategy decks. The people. There's a lot to be excited about. More to come. To everyone at CBTS and OnX who has welcomed me, challenged me, and trusted me with this work: thank you. Year two starts now.

May 2026Are you encountering the AI vs Security Paradox? Consider implementing security at the data level using format-preserving encryption (FPE) and anonymization/data masking. This approach ensures that protection follows your existing data or any new external pipelines ingested. With FPE, even your DBAs cannot view PII data unless they are authorized, while Developers can continue their work without needing to alter their code. This strategy makes compromised credentials and data extraction yield useless information without the decryption keys and the rights to access those PII fields. By limiting these rights, no single individual possesses the entire PII puzzle. Any data that leaves the environment, whether intentionally or through a breach, remains masked and ineffective for malicious actors. The technology is proven and has been in use for over a decade. May 2026Finding a new Job on AI era is really difficult, even for experienced people. Most big companies use AI to sort the candidates. You can see the reply from them has the same pattern. I got the same rejection message from several big company. You need a new strategy to submit the CV to those big companies that utilize AI to shortlist the candidates. Our CV should use the ATS format that can be easily parsed by AI. You can see the template in this post. People create AI to make our lives easier, but AI makes it harder for people getting harder to land a new job. Welcome to the new world where we must be smarter than machines.

Apr 2026Every CIO I talk to right now is carrying the same pressure: The board wants AI, the CEO wants results, and the infrastructure underneath it all was built for a completely different era. Today, many organizations are still using the same fragmented, tool-first mindset that defined earlier technology cycles, which could help explain why AI isn’t yet delivering its promised returns. I recently sat down with journalist Kelly Teal at Channel Dive to talk about where the real friction is. Why AI stalls before it scales, what "AI-ready" actually means at the infrastructure level, and what changes when a partner shows up for the full journey (instead of just the product install). If you're a CIO navigating this right now, you are not alone.
