Happy to speak at the CRASSH conference at the University of Cambridge earlier this week on CEPI's work on the intersection of climate change, One Health and pandemic preparedness. I spoke about how climate change and geopolitical fragmentation are reshaping pandemic preparedness, and why countries should prioritise investments that can serve multiple purposes of strengthening pandemic readiness, climate resilience and health system capacity. One point that resonated strongly across the discussions was that climate change, conflict, displacement and infectious disease risks are interconnected. Fragile settings often amplify vulnerabilities, and solutions require systems-based approaches such as One Health. There were also thoughtful discussions on AI, misinformation and trust, open data, and the importance of governance structures that enable cross-sectoral collaboration under a One Health approach. Thank you Saleyha for convening such a diverse group of health, academia, humanitarian, media and defence communities. I look forward to joining more cross-sectoral conversations as we think about translating One Health into concrete actions.
