Yesterday, Team CFGI laced up and hit the road at the JPMorganChase Corporate Challenge in Chicago! We are proud of everyone who walked, jogged, and ran the 3.5 miles. Moments like these remind us that the same teamwork we bring to our clients every day shows up just as strong outside the office. Congrats to all participants — on to the next one! #CFGI #JPMCorporateChallenge #Chicago #TeamCFGI
May 2026Last week, the CFGI Midwest Market highlighted three themes CFOs across the region are prioritizing, regardless of industry or company size. This week, we take a closer look at Theme 1 - AI & Digital Transformation. Midwest CFOs are moving from whether to invest in AI, and to the question of how to actually execute on it. The “how” is where most organizations are stuck, and roughly one third of Midwest CFOs feel confident they can drive AI impact. Nearly two thirds haven't moved beyond pilots (as discussed in CFGI’s 2026 CFO Outlook). Across our conversations with Midwest Finance leaders, the hurdles are consistent: - Data quality and integrity (Trust) - Change management and workforce enablement (Team Readiness) - Scalable path from pilot to full execution (Unchartered Waters) The organizations pulling ahead aren't the ones with the biggest AI budgets. They're the ones treating AI as a workflow transformation and an enabler of team members - not just a technology adoption. Where to start? Examples include financial close, forecasting, and transaction support. Those are the processes where AI can deliver measurable impact the quickest, and where confidence and trust in technology gets built. The AI confidence gap is real, and the Midwest CFOs who close the gap will gain a competitive advantage that will be significant. Stay tuned for next week's deep dive into Theme 2 – Embracing Uncertainty #CFGI #CFO #AI #DigitalTransformation #FinanceLeadership #Midwest
May 2026Proud to be a strategic advisor to these amazing companies on their paths to going public! Whether you are pursuing a public listing, or considering multiple potential exit strategies, we would welcome to opportunity to connect.
May 2026It's never too late to learn from new people and experiences. I recently returned from a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Peru, where I stood at Machu Picchu, paraglided off the cliffs in Lima, and visited the floating islands in Lake Titicaca at 12,507 feet. The Peruvians exhibit a profound spiritual respect for the earth, known as Pachamama, and a strong sense of community. I am impressed by their patience, warmth, and adaptability, and I will strive to embrace these strengths every day. --- What have you learned from your adventures?

Apr 202614 years ago I joined a small, fairly unknown firm called Corporate Finance Group Incorporated (now rebranded as CFGI). (Oh, so THAT’s what CFGI stands for?!) There were less than 100 people who worked at CFGI, all located in the Company’s sole office in Boston. The office building was on the older side. You needed a metal key to enter it. There were 5 desks, a couple of small offices and one conference room. Back then, we were primarily an Accounting Advisory shop. Fast forward, 14 years later, we are now a GLOBAL firm with over 1,000 people and we do more- much more! - than Accounting Advisory: Managed Services TAS Risk Advisory Cybersecurity Tax Valuation Finance Effectiveness FP&A Restructuring Capital Markets Private Equity Data & Analytics ERP implementation PMO support Sustainability & ESG Treasury (I’m sure I missed some!) I have been with CFGI during some of the best moments of my life: -Marriage -Conversion to Catholicism -Purchase of my first house and some of the worst moments of my life: -Receiving my mom’s dementia diagnosis (among other family member health scares) -Daily struggles with migraines -The Covid era -And, up for debate, the purchase of a Buick (I would personally put this in the ‘best moments of my life’ category, but I have since learned that my Buick was ‘not cool.’) To all my co-workers and clients who have made the last 14 years memorable, thank you. Thank you for your continued support, your jokes that lightened the mood, your compassion, the cheese (yes, multiple people have sent me cheese over the years; I’m not ashamed), your loyalty, your partnership and your friendship.
Apr 2026Board: “Can we use AI to write our cyber policies?” Me: “Absolutely. And can we also use AI to pass the audit?” 😉 A policy isn’t just a document; it's a commitment. If AI writes the promises, leadership still owns the consequences. AI can accelerate the first draft. However, CISOs need to ensure it aligns with real controls, real operating rhythms, and real risk decisions. The fastest way to create risk is to publish a policy that your environment can’t maintain! #CISO #CFGI #AIGovernance
