Amazing energy today at the Rise Up Alumni Conference at City Hall, with London's Violence Reduction Unit and London Youth bringing together and celebrating Youth Practitioners from across London. Fantastic hosting and event organising from Jonas Andrew-Phillip , alongside excellent workshops supporting youth workers to build on their practice, loads of tangible solution-focused approaches to engage vulnerable young Londoners. Youth workers play a vital role in violence reduction, along with supporting young people and communities every day, yet too often their impact is undervalued. Through the Rise Up programme, the VRU is helping ensure practitioners are recognised, empowered and invested in. With over 500 youth practitioners trained to date, the programme continues to build leadership, confidence and essential skills across the sector, strengthening the support available to young Londoners. Huge congratulations to everyone involved in delivering today 👏🏼 Clio Carpenter Alf Harris Naomi M. Lib Peck Louise McNestrie

Apr 2026Successful Transition Management isn’t just about moving processes—it’s about ensuring stability, continuity, and long-term success. Having recently worked closely on transition initiatives, here are a few key factors that truly make a difference: 🔹 Clear Planning & Governance Define milestones, timelines, and ownership upfront. A well-structured governance model avoids confusion later. 🔹 Effective Knowledge Transfer (KT) KT is not just documentation—it’s about ensuring the receiving team can independently operate with confidence. 🔹 Stakeholder Alignment Frequent communication with all stakeholders ensures expectations are aligned and risks are addressed early. 🔹 Strong Quality Control Framework Initial phases should have enhanced QC (like 100% checks) to stabilize the process and build confidence. 🔹 System & Access Readiness Ensuring all tools, access, and dependencies are in place before go-live is critical to avoid disruption. 🔹 Phased Ramp-Up Approach Gradual transition of volumes helps in minimizing risks and allows teams to adapt effectively. 🔹 People & Change Management Support teams through change with clear communication, training, and guidance to ensure smooth adoption and minimize disruption. 💡 Tip: Start focusing on stabilization from Day 1 of go-live. Transition doesn’t end at go-live—it truly begins there. A well-managed transition lays the foundation for operational excellence. #TransitionManagement #Operations #SharedServices #FinanceTransformation #Leadership
