Last week in Buenos Aires, I had the opportunity to represent ChildFund Americas at the Latin America edition of the Regional Communications Workshops and the Regional Summit against Child Sexual Violence. It was a powerful few days of conversations, learning and exchange with amazing professionals from across the region — including organizations, communicators, journalists and child protection leaders — all focused on a difficult but urgent question: how do we communicate childhood sexual violence in a more ethical, responsible and prevention-centered way? One thing became very clear throughout the week: the risks facing children are evolving quickly, especially in digital environments. Grooming, online exploitation, sextortion and deepfakes are changing the scale and complexity of these threats — and our responses need to evolve just as fast. More than anything, I leave with the reminder that child protection cannot be built in isolation. Collaboration, trust and collective action are essential if we want to create real impact. I was also deeply honored that ChildFund Americas received a Diploma of Honor from the Senate of Argentina in recognition of its commitment and contribution to promoting and defending the rights of children and adolescents across the region. A meaningful recognition of the work carried out every day alongside communities, local partners and allied organizations. Huge thanks to To Zero , Spitfire Strategies, Fundación Red por la Infancia , ONG Paicabi and WeProtect Global Alliance and all the amazing professionals involved for creating such an important and thoughtful space. It was truly an honor to meet, learn from and exchange ideas with so many inspiring people from across the region. 💛 #ChildProtection #Safeguarding #DigitalSafety #EndingViolenceAgainstChildren #ChildFundAmericas #ChildRights #Prevention #LATAM
