Two customer breakfasts over the past week. New York, then Chicago yesterday. Different rooms, same thing on everyone's mind. It isn't that comms teams are short on information. It's that the signals shaping a decision are scattered. What people search, what they post, what media picks up, what AI tools are now summarizing back to the world. Each one shows a different side of the same moment, and they only mean something once you put them next to each other. Reputation doesn't form in one place anymore, so you can't measure it in one place either. That stopped being a communications problem a while ago. It's a marketing, insights, and business problem now. This is a direction we're building toward at Cision. Not aggregating everything into a bigger pile, but connecting search, social, and media so the thing that actually needs a decision rises to the top. Our Football Attention Index is a live example, built on Trajaan's search intelligence combined with our social and media tracking. With the World Cup on, the point isn't watching all of it. It's catching the one narrative shift that needs a call before it needs a response. https://lnkd.in/gVBwu8nH And here's the part I keep coming back to: AI assistants are now part of the audience. It's not only how people read your story anymore. It's how machines interpret it and carry it forward, often without you in the room. The teams connecting their signals now, while everyone else is still aggregating, are building a lead that's hard to close.
Jun 2026The relationship between journalism and PR is changing. In a media environment shaped by pressure, fragmentation and AI, trust matters more than ever. Cision’s 2026 State of the Media Report found that 66% of journalists rely on PR-provided content for story ideas. For communications leaders, the message is clear: Trust is earned by being useful, accurate and relevant. Read the report: https://brnw.ch/21x2swc
May 2026I wanted to take a moment to share some news from earlier this week, Cision has acquired Trajaan. This is an important step forward in our AI and data strategy, bringing search intelligence together with social, media, and conversational insights to better understand consumer intent. By unifying what people search for, what they say, and how GenAI shapes discovery, we are giving our customers a more predictive view of the why behind behavior. I am excited about the expanded capabilities this brings to our platforms and thrilled to welcome the Trajaan team as we build what is next together.
