A great step forward in helping deliver on our long term net-zero commitments with credibility and confidence. Well done Paul Thomas for leading this and making it happen. City Electrical Factors
May 2026Had a fantastic afternoon at the Micawber Club St George’s Day luncheon. Great company, plenty of laughs, and all for a brilliant cause. Always a pleasure catching up with industry friends too. Also tried Port and Brandy (Prandy?) for the first time which was an interesting combo 🍷 David Shackleton Royston Gough City Electrical Factors
Apr 2026This week we closed the door on Year 2 of the Focus Programme in Manchester and Bournemouth — and opened a brand new one for Year 3. 🌱🚀 Both Regions, back to back, four days straight. It was a lot. It was brilliant. Year 2 delivered everything we hoped for and more. Great Retention. Knowledge has genuinely grown. The connections formed within each group — the trust, the challenge, the support — those will outlast any workshop we’ve ever run. 📚🧠 We closed each region the right way. A final session reflecting on everything they’d learned, a shift to continuous development, followed by a proper celebration evening. Finishing well matters as much as starting well. 🏅🍴 And then, almost immediately, Year 3 began. This year we raised the bar on entry. Applicants had to submit a written application and record a video pitch — just to reach the assessment centre stage. No shortcuts. They earned their place. You could feel it in both rooms on launch day. We were joined by our Director of People, Culture & Talent, alongside Paul Church (Director of Operations, Bournemouth) and Sean Baker (Director of Operations, Manchester) — each sharing honest, practical advice on navigating a career in this industry. The kind of words that land differently when they come from people who’ve genuinely lived it. The afternoons were spent on accountability, networking and personal development. Each group finished by setting their own guiding principles — for themselves, for each other, and for us as facilitators. That moment never gets old. 🔍 Career trajectories are already quietly shifting for people who came through Year 2. Year 3 is going to push it even further. ⬆️📈 Proud of both groups. Proud of this programme. 💙 City Electrical Factors #FocusProgramme #EarlyCareers #TalentDevelopment #LearningAndDevelopment #CEF #BuildingTalentPools #FutureTalent
Apr 2026With my start date as Account Manager at CEF Loughborough fast approaching on 1st May, it’s starting to feel very real now. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been speaking with customers to let them know about the change and to ensure a smooth transition. It’s been great to start those conversations early and build on existing relationships. I’m really looking forward to getting out on the road, meeting both new and existing customers, and continuing to support them in any way I can. If you’d like to get in touch ahead of May, feel free to contact me: 📧 edward.spare@cef.co.uk 📞 07812 406 854
