Great learning experience today in the Leading People course. We explored key aspects of effective leadership and team development, including: • Culture and values • Beliefs, attitudes, and behaviours • Leadership styles • Team development cycles • Role modelling • Setting plans and goals • Smart problem solving and decision making • Communication within teams One of the strongest reminders for me was that leadership is not only about delivering outcomes — it is about creating a positive learning environment, building trust, and helping people grow together. Looking forward to applying these insights in practice and continuing the journey of developing stronger teams and better outcomes. Apr 2026Great to be part of the Personal Effectiveness Training with Cleanaway. We’re halfway through day one, and it has already been a very valuable experience. A big thank you to Cleanaway Waste Management for investing in developing people and creating these opportunities to learn and reflect. Some key takeaways so far on effective communication: 1️⃣ Structure matters – be clear on the reason, explain the concept, and then move to the method. 2️⃣ Drive engagement by removing barriers – make it easy for others to connect, and instead of yes/no questions, use “what”, “how”, “why” questions to open the conversation. 3️⃣ Follow-up is essential – communication doesn’t end after the first discussion; staying engaged is what makes it effective. Looking forward to the rest of the session and putting these into practice. #Learning #Communication #ProfessionalDevelopment #Cleanaway
