Every week, I get on calls with hoteliers who tell me some version of the same thing: "I know we're leaving money on the table. I just don't know where." So let me tell you where. It's in the group bookings your team is still handling on email and spreadsheets. It's in the spa, the restaurant, the parking…every revenue line that isn't a room. It's in the 90 minutes a day your front desk spends reconciling between systems that don't talk to each other. And it's in the decisions you make at 8 a.m. with data that's already 12 hours stale. The Cloudbeds Spring Release goes after every one of those. If you've ever felt the gap between what your property could do and what your tech lets it do…block 90 minutes. May 19. May 2026One thing I’ve appreciated since joining Cloudbeds is that the expectations go far beyond just “sell the software.” I’ve worked at places where the only thing that mattered was closing the deal. What is different here is the focus on helping independent hoteliers actually compete smarter. Less manual work. More direct bookings. Better visibility into their business. Fewer disconnected systems creating headaches. The independent operators winning right now are not always the biggest. They are usually the ones willing to rethink old processes and make smarter operational decisions.

Apr 2026Yesterday, I had the pleasure of having coffee with Fahad suleiman, Director of Operations and Hotel Systems Consultant. We met at the JW Marriott Edmonton ICE District Downtown Edmonton, where we were also joined by CLINT BOODRAM, Regional Manager, Business Development, TD. What stood out was how closely we are all working around the same ownership groups, from different vantage points. • Fahad suleiman supports hotel owners with operational and system decisions at the property level His newsletter reflects that perspective well. Please subscribe: https://lnkd.in/gKX3Q-TW • CLINT BOODRAM brings a strong network and perspective across business development, access, and long term opportunity across industries, including hospitality. He works closely with independent and branded hotel owners and understands the realities they navigate. Our discussion on access and community reflects conversations being advanced more broadly Relevant context:https://lnkd.in/g9rSpJpT • Through Cloudbeds, I work alongside owners and operators, building partnerships that connect people, platforms, and opportunities Open to continuing the conversation here: https://lnkd.in/gC7bVTCT Same stakeholders. Different entry points. That intersection is where the most valuable outcomes for owners and operators tend to happen. For owners, operators, and partners, this kind of alignment removes friction, surfaces opportunity faster, and leads to better decisions. There was also a natural connection beyond business. Shared roots across the African diaspora, now building and contributing here in Edmonton, AB. The conversation around access, representation, and community added an important dimension to the discussion. Appreciate the time and perspective, gentlemen. Looking forward to continuing this dialogue with more voices around the table.
Mar 2026Proud to see Cloudbeds supporting the British Columbia Hotel Association and its members. Partnerships like this play an important role in helping independent and regional operators across British Columbia continue to evolve, modernize operations, and focus on delivering strong guest experiences. It is encouraging to see technology providers and industry associations working together in a way that supports long term sustainability for the hospitality community.
