Reflecting on a great British Cochlear Implant Group Conference in Glasgow 🏴 this week, brilliantly hosted by SCIP. We started with our Cochlear Symposium on a tall ship, where I was fortunate to moderate our panel with 6 UK & Ireland clinicians, focussing on shared audiology and surgical capacity challenges. The main conference was also great - a chance to reconnect with colleagues. I enjoyed the discussions around connected care and how clinics are improving efficiencies across the patient pathway, which remain priorities for the future of cochlear implant services. A big thank you to the organisers and everyone involved for such a great conference (and the Ceilidh dancing! 🏴 💃🏽)
Apr 2026My first ever BCIG is complete ✅ The last few days have been an incredible learning experience, hearing from experts about the work they are doing to support the growing number of patients and make CI services fit for the future. And to top everything off, the Cochlear stand was awarded top marks for its focus on engagement and sustainability! Big thanks to Chris Duke and the WestEnd team for bringing our vision to life. Apr 2026They say time flies when you’re having fun, and the last 14.5 years at Cochlear are proof of that! When I started here back in 2011, I couldn’t have imagined the journey ahead. Beyond the projects and professional milestones, it’s the people who have made this place feel like home. To my team: thank you for being more than just coworkers. You’ve been my mentors, my cheerleaders, and my friends. As I move on to a new opportunity, I’m filled with both nostalgia and excitement. I’m ready for a new set of challenges, but I will deeply miss our daily collaborations. To everyone I’ve crossed paths with during this decade and a half – thank you for being part of my story.
Apr 2026Hearing plays a crucial role in our lives, and this boy's experience with a cochlear implant highlights its significance. On the Today Show, he shared how the implant has transformed his ability to connect with others. The host aptly noted that we could have an entire channel dedicated to such inspiring stories. Witnessing individuals regain their hearing and the connections it fosters is truly powerful. https://lnkd.in/g6WUNkbV
