The truth that a LOT of founders don’t want to hear … the thing that kills most startups is the stuff happening inside the building that nobody wants to deal with. sure, sometimes the market works against them, or maybe the competition was too strong. But I’ve seen so many companies fail for entirely preventable reasons. Culture becomes a "we'll sort that later" thing and by that time the team is already at odds. We have officially expanded into new offices in London. Connectd is growing and we needed a new home that reflected that ! Makes me very proud that we have grown from our little founding team to this. This also means we have a bigger event space. Hosted an impromptu evening for founders and fractionals last week. 80 people showed up. Short notice. No agenda. Really proud of the community we’re building as we grow as a team. (Big shout out to Emily Brooke for making that event happen) The business was built on the idea that the right introduction can change everything for your business. Thank you Sifted for inviting me to your recent event. After finding out we were ranked again in this year’s Sifted 100 across the UK and Europe, it was great to be in a room with founders and teams all building in different ways and at different stages. You don’t always get that perspective from seeing a list (an impressive list at that), but being around it in real time reminds you how much ambition there is across the space and how far Connectd has come. Also great to hear from Amy Lewin . Always insightful, clear, and someone I’ve looked up to for a long time as a speaker.

I'm a dad to three girls. And I know that at some point, sooner than I'd like, they're going to walk into a room and wonder if they belong there. They're going to have an opinion and second-guess whether to say it out loud. I can't fix that overnight. But I can control what I do today. For me, that starts with the women I work with every day. → Emily Brooke - saw a gap in how we show up for our startup community and just did something about it. Three events, off her own back, each stronger than the last. → Annette Berry - She doesn't need the noise. Her fingerprints are on everything we've built at Connectd . → Claudia Stankler - runs our entire operation as COO and is still one of the loudest voices for the women in this business. I share this not because it's the right thing to say. But because my daughters are watching what the men around them do. Not what they say they believe but what they actually do.
