In 2020, right out of college, I founded my own startup, CleanXy. When I secured seed funding offers of up to 2.5 Cr, I thought the hard part was over. I was completely wrong. I had to figure out operations, vendor management and hiring entirely on my own. Within 18 months, I scaled the team to 30 early hires , building the startup from concept to an operating venture. I brute-forced every operational bottleneck myself because I didn't have a playbook. What I learned the hard way: founder hustle doesn't scale. At 10 people, a founding team can manage vendors in spreadsheets and hire based on network vibes. But as a startup pushes toward 30+ people, that lack of structure goes from a minor annoyance to a massive liability. Operational debt, ad-hoc hiring engines and compliance compound silently until it breaks the company. Those early trial-by-fire learnings shaped my entire approach as a Chief of Staff across companies like EVeez and ConsultAdd. I transitioned from being the founder who tried to do everything, to the operator who builds the machine. I learned how to structure cross-functional operating systems and scale GTM architectures so the founder doesn't have to. A visionary CEO’s calendar should be ruthlessly protected for three things: Product, Customers, and Fundraising. If a founder is spending their week debugging payroll, setting up regional entities, or manually sourcing candidates, the business is bleeding leverage. The true value of a high-level Operator isn't just "executing tasks." It's building the operational backbone so those tasks permanently disappear from the founder's desk. Streamline the chaos and scale the outcome.
