LinkedInArtificial Intelligence

The AI conversation keeps getting framed as a choice. We are past the point. Capability or trust. Speed or guardrails. Innovation or governance. None of these options are mutually exclusive. At the TIME 100 #TIME100 Summit, I was reminded why these conversations and questions persist. The real work — the work that makes AI actually work for humanity — is running both races at once. The race to build the most powerful technology the world has ever seen, and engender the trust & control plane that lets us deploy it with confidence. Not one or the other. Both. Together. That’s the only version of this future worth building. Thank you to TIME and Jessica Sibley for convening a room that reflected the full scope of this moment. World leaders like António Guterres, business and technology leaders including Dr. Athina Kanioura , Arianna Huffington , Richard Edelman , and Glenn Fogel , Clara Shih , and cultural voices like Kate Hudson, Victoria Beckham— and many others shaping this moment. AI isn’t just a technology story. It’s a human one. Two things became unmistakably clear to me, sharpened by Nikhil K. brilliant moderation: 1) We need intentional investment in AI trust and governance — and it accelerates capability, not the other way around. The question isn’t whether AI will be powerful. It already is. The question is whether we can build AI with the highest capabilities to transform the world — with maximum control and confidence. As an AI optimist, my work is grounded in a simple but urgent question: how do we get this right — not for a few, but for everyone? This is the work we’ve been doing at Credo AI for six years, long before “AI governance” was a headline. AI trust isn’t the brake. It’s what lets you step on the gas. 2) The builder economy is here — but access isn’t equal. AI is democratizing creation in ways we’ve never seen. We are in the new paradigm where everyone can be a builder. But if women, underrepresented communities, and the next generation aren’t at the center of this shift, we don’t get broad prosperity. We get a narrower version of the same old economy, just faster. At Credo AI, we are committed to leading by example in a trusted builder economy. The future of AI won’t be defined by the technology alone. It will be defined by the choices we make — who we include, what we prioritize, and how intentionally we shape its impact. Both races. Together. That’s how this technology actually works for humanity. The opportunity is immense. And it’s on all of us to rise to meet the opportunity of tomorrow. 👇link to our conversation below in the comments - let me know what resonates with you #TIME100 #credoai #aigovernance #trustworthyai
