May 2026I was lucky enough to be invited along to the Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke Community Farm day today. The progression of this project over the last 18 months has been phenomenal....from a disused outdoor space full of overgrown brambles to the vision that is now a therapeutic, calming outdoor space. The farm includes raised flower beds and allotment full of fresh grown vegetables, a pond, seated circle with fire pit, aa well as a stunning wooden yurt and goats. There are further plans to extend this space to support equine therapy with horses and llamas. Today's event was full of enriching activities with the completion of the new shed doors mural painting from our incredible Experts by Experience Vanessa and Neil, "Yoga in the Yurt" and "Tai Chi with the Tomatoes" supported by the wonderful Active Life team Sally Leddy and Peter Morton . The catering team did a great BBQ for everyone as well! Such a heartwarming day, seeing the impact the outdoor space is already having for Service Users alongside staff. A true co-produced project. Huge well done and congratulations to Joshua , Josh and the team on all your hard work and determination to make this project and today's event such a huge success. Was lovely seeing so many colleagues there 🫶 Stephanie Coxon Dr Sharon Collins Ellie Thomas mike kambasha Peter Smith Sylvia Dubarry Christian Young Kirsty McMurran Shane Mills Lived Experience Network (LENs) #Greenspace 💚 #Recovery #farm #goats #freshcrops #coproduction #mentalhealth
May 2026Green space and animal care.. 💗 Official opening today to celebrate the inclusion of goats to Cygnet Kewstoke farm…. The value of green space and cultivating an area from nothing to one that flourishes and brings people together is so meaningful. The addition of the goats brings an animal care element and it was clear to see the positive impact they have had. On wellbeing week it was wonderful to see everyone come together to celebrate this incredible space that the Kewstoke team and patients have developed alongside a number of community teams. The local college partnership has enabled others to learn and work through education milestones, whilst creating this beautiful space for the patients and staff at Kewstoke hospital. Kewstoke are really flying the flag for not only engaging the local community but for creating inclusive therapeutic spaces. The yurt was home to introduction to yoga sessions and will continue to house a therapeutic outdoor wellbeing space, with the introduction of the roof and outdoor covering. Brilliant event today, can’t wait to see how this space develops. May 2026I have had the privilege today of spending International Nurses Day at Cygnet Churchill. Spending the afternoon talking about why Cygnet is a great place to be a nurse and how being part of the nursing profession is something to be truly proud of. A big thank you to all the over 2,000 Registrared Nurses in Cygnet and the compassion you show every day to the people we care for.

Apr 2026Really proud to share that the team at Cygnet Hospital Harrow have been recognised nationally, with Springs Court and EPC shortlisted for both Project of the Year – Future Design (UK) and Clinical Team of the Year at the Design in Mental Health Awards 2026. This recognition reflects the commitment and belief of our clinical teams, who have fully embraced our vision for a specialist Autism Pathway that is progressive, therapeutic and truly person-centred. What we’re building at Harrow goes beyond service development — it’s about shaping the future of complex care and demonstrating what high-quality, least restrictive, autism-informed environments can achieve. A huge thank you to the entire team and the wider support within the Cygnet Group for bringing this vision to life. Looking forward to the awards in June — wish us luck! 💫 Maryanne Mathews Stephanie Lael Geemiyma Simmons-Henry BSc, MSc Holly Jones Michélle Van Vuren Matteo Parissi Afifa Ghouri Dr Jaleel Mohammed Azmath Khan Daisy Key Teena Venugopal Kim Lan Luc Charles Coia MBA student university of Gloucester Tony Nugent
