Apr 2026#deugro Denmark successfully realized the difficult transport of more than 1,600 oversized or heavy haulage components for the Kvitfjell Raudfjell Wind Farm Project. The project site is at a fairly remote location in northern Norway, on two neighboring mountains. The only access for wind turbine components was through a small jetty in Norfjorden, approx. 10 km from the site. The components were first brought to the port of Grøtsund: 67 wind turbines, with a hub height of 85 m and a 130 m rotor diameter. Each blade is 63 m long and weighs 28.3 metric tons. deugro handled the storage layout and the transfer to and from the vessels. From Grøtsund, the components were transshipped to the port in Norfjorden. deugro took over the main feeder vessel shuttling between ports and overcame the challenge that the quay in Norfjorden is only around 20 m wide. Finally, the components were transported to the project site by road through mountains featuring grades of 15 to 20%. The project was one of the largest performed in Europe in 2019 with a total volume of over 290,000 FRT. https://deugro.com/ .
