View source postAlarmingly, most company level carbon data *still* sucks. But the demand for reliable, granular data is soaring. I’m excited to announce a solution to help bridge that gap: EcoVadis is now providing a Data Reliability Level for all 59,000 companies that report through our platform. Our tool analyses carbon data and checks for: - Outliers - Context - Methodology - Boundaries and coverage - GHG Protocol alignment - Third-party verification Based on these factors, it gives a Data Reliability Level (DRL) of low, medium, high or third-party verified (the gold standard) for every supplier that reports through our system. Our rating system leverages AI alongside an army of 500+ expert analysts. Already, many of the large companies using EcoVadis are employing this rating to decide which supplier data to include in their own Scope 3 inventories. This is going to massively improve data quality across the system - without increasing the reporting burden. For the suppliers that have a low or medium rating, they will receive corrective action plans to improve their data quality. But having a ‘low’ rating is not inherently bad, it just means they are early on their journey. It’s a process. We need all companies to be moving along that pathway from low to high reliability. Right now, this is applied to all the 59,000 companies reporting through EcoVadis. But in the future, we aim to provide a Data Reliability Level to all climate data that is publicly reported. I’m super excited about this. We’re going to massively level up the reliability of carbon data across the whole ecosystem. And more reliable data = better business decisions. (And this is getting more critical by the day, given regulatory changes and the new wave of AI in procurement). For the data nerds (and everyone else): I’m happy to share that we will be releasing a public whitepaper on the methodology behind our Data Reliability Levels, ready for London Climate Action Week next month. Do reach out if you want further info! More coming soon! 👀
May 2026Coupa Inspire was incredibly inspiring! Alongside our fantastic team, Pierre-Francois Thaler , Tom Chen , Noam Sharabany and Tirell Grahlman , it was amazing to see the momentum building around a new era of spend management - through connection, trusted data and AI augmented decision-making. The alignment between EcoVadis and our partner Coupa has never been stronger. Together, we are leveraging the power of our combined supplier networks to drive the best decision-making through actionable data, delivering real, measurable client value when processes get integrated. As a Platinum Partner to Coupa, EcoVadis already offers a native integration into Coupa Risk Aware. Looking ahead, our vision is the full integration across the entire supplier lifecycle—from onboarding and sourcing to contract and risk management. By embedding reliable sustainability data at every touchpoint, we are helping organizations build resilience, safeguard their operations, and drive better, more sustainable decisions. In his presentation, EcoVadis Co-CEO Pierre-Francois Thaler perfectly framed why this mission is so critical right now: ⚠️ The Risks are Real: Supply chain disruptions cost companies $1.6 trillion in annual revenue growth potential. 52% of companies lose the equivalent of a month of operating capacity each year due to disruptions. 🌱 The Opportunities are Massive: +3.6% revenue growth for more resilient companies. $7 trillion projected value of the green economy by 2030. He also shared some powerful insights on the current state of the industry: 💰 Value beyond compliance: 80% of leaders now cite innovation as a leading driver of sustainable procurement ROI (vs. 54% of others). ✨ AI is key: 68% of buyers have deployed AI in their programs (55% using operational tools and 13% with widespread deployment). ✴️ The digital gap: ESG integration is the new baseline, but full digital integration remains rare, averaging only 27% across procurement processes. The roadmap for improvement is clear! A massive thank you to the entire Coupa team for hosting such a spectacular event and for your continued partnership: Leagh Turner , Salvatore Lombardo , Joel Solomon , Dennis Bruder , Eric Washer , Anna Onishchenko , Nike Klaubert , Greg Harbor and Doug Stapleton . Looking forward to what we build next together! #CoupaInspire #SupplyChain #SustainableProcurement #EcoVadis #Coupa #RiskManagement #ESG
May 2026Millions have been spent on developing fancy dashboards for climate solutions. But the rise of Agentic AI in procurement could soon make all of this obsolete. 🤯 Here’s my take… Currently, companies are navigating a very complex landscape with huge numbers of different tools for supply chain climate risk mapping, engagement, measurement and reporting. I’m now seeing a growing movement to bring Agentic AI into procurement more broadly and I’ve been wondering how this will play out in the near future. Theoretically we could soon have AI procurement agents deciding on the best tools for that particular supply chain and then contracting with those tools and then implementing them, with data flowing between suppliers and procurement organisations, and AI agents analysing and acting on that data, without any humans being directly involved. All of those slick dashboards could become useless if AI agents are the ones using the data, and can just answer the procurement team’s questions conversationally. We’re not there yet — but it’s perfectly plausible. The ingredients are there. Would this be positive or negative for sustainability? I’m optimistic that it could be broadly positive. Human experts are good at writing strategies, policies and rules, but AI has a better capacity to analyse data and apply rules more consistently. Theoretically, sustainability strategies could be implemented more objectively without human bias, error and vested interests getting in the way. However, there are obviously risks that need to be addressed. Governance, transparency and responsible use of AI will determine how this plays out. A few concerns that should be on our radar: ⚠️ Ethical governance and transparency about how companies are rolling out AI (maybe we need an “Corporate AI Disclosure Project”?!) ⚠️ Regulatory frameworks are not sufficient and need to be strengthened ⚠️ Rampant energy consumption needs to be addressed - AI can be wildly wasteful especially for low-value queries ⚠️ Underlying Data quality is getting even more critical (AI decisions are only as good as the data and models they learn from) That last point on data quality is why I’m so incredibly proud of the work we are doing at EcoVadis on rolling out Carbon Data Reliability Ratings - massively improving data quality. More on that coming soon!

May 2026Yesterday was Earth Day and for me a moment to reflect on what's actually changing. The companies weathering today's disruption best have one thing in common: they treat sustainability as resilience infrastructure, not reporting overhead. The data from the last five years makes it clear. Since 2020, the number of sustainability ratings conducted globally has risen by 167%. Not a trend. A transformation. At EcoVadis, we've now assessed 10's of thousand of companies across 250 industries and 185 countries, building transparency into supply chains that used to be invisible. The average scores continue to climb, and among companies engaged across multiple cycles, 86% now score above 45. Asia-Pacific led the world in improvement last year, gaining 3 full points across Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. 150,000+ businesses, including a majority of the globes most recognizable brands now use EcoVadis to turn ESG ambition into measurable, resilient outcomes. Internally, we hold ourselves to the same standard we set for others: 92% reduction in Scope 1 & 2 emissions 57% reduction in Scope 3 But the work isn't finished. Over a third of first-time rated companies still sit in medium-to-high risk ranges. Sustainable Procurement remains the weakest theme globally. The gaps are real, and so is the urgency. Here's what keeps me optimistic: the companies that stay committed are winning. Stronger supply chains. Better risk management. Lower costs. Long-term resilience. The ROI of sustainability isn't a debate anymore. It's a data point. This Earth Day, I'm proud to stand alongside every procurement leader, sustainability champion, and business choosing transparency over opacity, and resilience over reaction. What comes next is up to us. Apr 2026It's official! I am proud to share that I have officially been welcomed into the #DajWłos ! (Give Hair!) program by Fundacja Rak’n’Roll. Wygraj Życie! . After growing my hair out for three and a half years, I finally made the cut on December 22nd, 2025. While it took a few months for the charity to process the donation, receiving the confirmation this week made it all feel "official". Deciding to act and following through is a powerful feeling. 8 Years of Sustainability and Long-term Impact This month also marks my 8th anniversary at EcoVadis . Working in an environment that prioritizes sustainability and social responsibility has shaped how I view impact. Just as we help companies drive meaningful change over time, I’ve learned that the most significant results often come from long-term commitment. Whether that's a multi-year sustainability roadmap or simply growing out your hair for 1,277 days to help someone in need. This action reflects the core values we live by every day. To anyone thinking about a major style change - consider donating your hair. It’s a simple way to multiply the good in the world. As the foundation says: "Love is the only thing that multiplies when you divide it". #EcoVadis #WorkAnniversary #PersonalGrowth #Philanthropy #DajWłos #RaknRoll #Sustainability
