I was delighted to have recently been invited to speak at 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗞’𝘀 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 at The Shard, London, together with One Young World . Our panel explored what a four nations approach to effective Youth Strategy requires, and most importantly, the areas that could be forgotten or overlooked within our local context. I reflected on key issues such as gender-based violence, rural isolation, and the opportunities and challenges of a digitised online environment shaped by social media and AI. Challenges where young leaders are already developing their ideas and solutions and must be supported to continue doing so. Having recently completed an extensive programme of youth engagement, I was delighted to share my thoughts on what meaningful inclusion looks like in practice. When we fully provide the tools for participation, I feel genuinely optimistic about the motivation and capacity for change that young people bring. Thanks to Dr Michael Hastings CBE, John Loughton BEM (CEO, Young Scot), Tia Ellis (Elevate Young Minds), and Jacob Ellis (Office of the Future Generations Commissioner for Wales) for making this such an enjoyable panel to be a part of. A special shoutout to four incredible leaders from Northern Ireland who shared powerful insights on mental health, building neuroaffirming practice, green skills and career pathways, and policymaking: Cara Hunter MLA, Rossita Maclean , Rebecca McCullough McMaster and Matthew Taylor . Proud of these wonderful folks – and the opportunity to see these important conversations carried onto a wider stage. 🌍💬 Particularly lovely to reconnect with Claudia Maria Martins Camisuli , Kate Robertson , Ella Robertson McKay , Philip McCarthy , Gabriela G. , Rishi Dorai , Hayden Taylor & listen to the exceptionallly talented sam browne !
