LinkedInWarehousing and Distribution

Critical update for Amazon sellers with oversized products. Starting tomorrow, July 31, Amazon Warehousing and Distribution (AWD) will automatically reject any inbound ASIN that exceeds 18x14x8 inches or 20 lbs. No grace period. No workarounds. If your product is oversized, AWD is no longer your buffer. Why this is a bigger deal than it looks on paper: AWD has been the "cheat code" for brands selling furniture, fitness equipment, and large outdoor goods. It allowed sellers to avoid restrictive FBA capacity limits and high storage fees by acting as an upstream buffer to drip-feed inventory into the fulfillment network. That safety net is gone and the timing is brutal. We're entering Q3, meaning anyone selling oversized goods should already be positioning inventory for Q4. The options Amazon is leaving you with are thin: 1. Ship direct to FBA: Exposes you to strict capacity limits, peak storage fees, and an FC network not designed to be a long-term warehouse. 2. Partner with a 3PL: Stage, prep, and drip-feed inventory into FBA on your own terms to maintain an active buffer. Oversized inventory sitting in FBA longer than 60 days gets expensive fast. Someone has to own that buffer now. If your Q4 replenishment strategy relied on AWD, check your inbound pipeline today before your next shipment gets rejected. At Fulfilled by Staples, we help brands rebuild their supply chain buffers to ensure they don't miss a beat this peak season. How are you adjusting your oversized fulfillment strategy this week? #SupplyChain #AmazonFBA #Ecommerce #Logistics #FulfilledByStaples

Thank you, Acenda, for the continued partnership! We're looking forward to once again supporting the Acenda community of marketplace sellers and brands at this year's Summit in La Jolla this September. It's a magnificent event and I'd encourage anyone who's considering attending, or on the fence, to connect with the the magnificent teams at Acenda, Staples, or Cover Genius.

I talk fulfillment with brands daily and start every discovery call the same way. “What are you trying to accomplish, and what’s holding you back?” I’d say half the time, that question stops people, especially at the enterprise level. Not because they don’t have issues… but because they haven’t really stepped back and defined one. Often, the conversation isn’t even centered around a clear gap or goal, it’s the calendar notification that their contract is up... and to issue an RFP. Compare costs. Switch partners. Rinse and repeat. When brands step back, most can see they’re too complex for their own good. Layers get added over time. New channels, new partners, old fixes for new problems. Most brands aren’t underbuilt. They’re overbuilt. When that “system” is simplified, things start to work again. Data makes sense. Inventory moves the way it should. Execution stops fighting strategy. This is where I encourage my clients to spend time; Simplifying what’s underneath so growth doesn’t keep breaking it. #FulfilledbyStaples #3PL #ecommerce #SupplyChain
