May 2026TORONTO TORONTO TORONTO! Why I love this city so much is because THEY SHOW UP, AND THEY SHOW LOVE! Back in late March, Saam Mashhad threw out an idea of running our first-ever hackathon here at EvenUp . To be honest, I had never thrown one and had no clue what to expect. But what I did know is two things: the team here just makes things happen, and Toronto is filled with engineers who want to show up and show out. And show out they did. We had over 400 people reach out about the hackathon, and we ended up inviting 42 members to solve real-life challenges within the legal tech space. We were super impressed with what teams of complete strangers were able to build in just 8 hours. It was truly something to marvel at. There are many more to come here at EvenUp . We are just getting started.

Jan 2026Deploying customer-facing AI agents that actually work in the wild is still one of the hardest open problems in our field. That’s why I’m thrilled to share that Dr. Zhou (Jo) Yu — CS Professor at Columbia University and Co-founder of Arklex.ai — will be joining us for the next EvenUp Distinguished Speaker Series to talk about: “Deploying Customer-Facing AI Agents That Actually Work” 📅 Thursday, December 11 ⏰ 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM PST 📍 Virtual (Zoom) Most companies are stuck in the AI “pilot loop”: endless POCs, flashy demos, and agents that never quite reach human-level performance. Oct 2025Across industries — from law and healthcare to insurance and finance — the lifeblood of business remains trapped in documents: PDFs, scans, charts, handwritten notes, and screenshots. In personal injury law, a single case can span thousands of pages of police reports, medical records, bills, and adjuster notes. EvenUp’s AI reads and reasons across these documents to extract facts, timelines, and evidence at scale. By transforming unstructured information into structured data, we lay the groundwork for the insights, automation, and actions that will define the next era of legal operations.
