As an expat in Singapore, I’ve spent almost 6 years renting homes here. And over time, I realized something interesting. The rental ecosystem here is actually quite organized — platforms, agents, paperwork, viewings. But despite that, there are still major blind spots for renters. You only discover certain things after moving in: - how responsive the landlord really is - whether maintenance becomes a struggle - if the agent disappears after signing - or how stressful deposit recovery gets And I kept wondering: Why is there so little renter knowledge available before making such an important decision? We read reviews before booking hotels, buying gadgets, or even trying cafés. But for homes — where people spend years living — most decisions still happen with limited context. That thought eventually led me to start building something small on the side: a platform where past tenants can leave honest property/agent/landlord reviews and pay it forward. The idea is simple: Help renters make better decisions through shared experiences. But building it raised difficult product questions: - How do you make reviews trustworthy? - How do you prevent fake submissions? - Should reviews be anonymous? - How much friction is necessary for credibility? The current beta is the outcome of working through those trade-offs. Only for Singapore market as of yet. This still very early, and I’m now looking for the first set of people who’d love to: - try the platform - submit reviews - share honest feedback - and help shape the community If this resonates with you, comment below or DM me and I’ll share the access link :)
May 2026There’s something quietly powerful about a “first commit.” Today, I made mine with AirShelf AI Not a headline milestone. Not something that moves metrics overnight. But one of those moments that changes how you see yourself. For most of my career, I’ve worked on the product side — defining problems, shaping experiences, driving outcomes. Close to tech, but not quite in it. Always collaborating, rarely building at the code level. This felt different. It wasn’t perfect. Probably not elegant either. But it was mine — written, tested, and pushed.
