Six months in our new HQ today, and I’ve been reflecting a lot recently. I was unsure whether to share this, but for me that’s exactly the point of sharing it. It’s so easy to look at somebody else’s business, career or life on social media and assume everything is just going great all the time. I’ve had so many people say recently, “The new building looks ace” or “You’re smashing it at the minute.” But social media is usually just a highlight reel of the good bits, isn’t it? Because truthfully, it definitely didn’t feel like that at the back end of 2025. It was probably the most challenging period of my business career so far. We faced a major commercial challenge involving a new client we’d never previously worked with. Thankfully, with strong commercial support around us and a lot of hard work from the team, we successfully navigated the situation and made the decision not to work with that client moving forward. At the same time, we were refurbishing and moving into our new HQ. What should have been a straightforward property transaction turned into months of stress after historic legal issue linked to the site delayed completion and held up funding at the worst possible time. Because our previous building had already been let to a new tenant as part of a wider chain, the pressure and uncertainty around timings became incredibly difficult to manage. Alongside that, we moved house, lost a close friend and colleague, and somewhere in the middle of it all I managed to slip, knock myself out and give myself concussion for two weeks. In all honesty, it was grim. But looking back now, I learned a lot about myself, the people around me, and the importance of having good people in your corner. I’ll never forget the way our team pulled together, the clients who continued backing us, and the partners and mentors who supported me through it all. The last six months have actually been good for me. I’ve regrouped, reset and refocused. We’ve now settled into the new HQ, we’re building a brilliant team around us, and I genuinely feel like we’ve created the foundations for the next phase of growth. The focus now is not just growth for the sake of growth. It’s about building something more sustainable, more strategic and more valuable for our clients long term. We’re actively looking to support organisations with decarbonisation, renewable energy, M&E and technical services projects from early-stage strategy and design through to delivery, maintenance and long-term support. If you’re looking for a partner that understands the full lifecycle rather than just the install, feel free to reach out. 01482 429354 info@gwpower.co.uk We’ll stop milking the new building on social media now… we promise 😂

Jrue Holiday is the kind of player every championship team needs. He can handle the ball, defend at an elite level as one of the best guards on that end, shoot comfortably in the upper tier of the league, and consistently make the right reads. He just plays the game the right way. His basketball IQ and winning instincts show up in ways that go far beyond the box score. The Blazers secured a 106–103 win over a Wemby-less Spurs team. Holiday finished with 16 points on 6–17 shooting, adding 9 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 1 steal, posting a +12 while on the court. With under 10 seconds left and up one, he made a high-level decision to catch the ball under the basket and dribble out to the three-point line, burning clock instead of rushing and risking giving possession back up three. He then broke down the defense and found Kamara under the rim, who drew a foul with 5 seconds remaining. If I could redraft my fantasy team, I would make space for him as my starting point guard. There’s a reason he’s played for the USA National Team. As a Sixers fan, it’s still tough to look back on the decision to move him for Nerlens Noel, a deal that helped kick off the Process era for Philadelphia 76ers. You can’t help but wonder what it would have looked like if they had kept him and let him reach his full potential in Philadelphia.
