Do you know the 5-letter word that ruins far too many marriages, leaders, teams, & companies? The Bible warns us and tells us how to fix it. PRIDE. Pride comes before the fall. - Proverbs 16:8 Jesus set the standard 2,000 years ago. Servant leadership. Self-sacrifice. Laying our lives down for our families and teams. The men I admire most and desire to imitate live this way. Love God. Love people. Point all glory to Christ. Watch God move. → What leadership lessons do you see in the Bible? → What's your favorite verse on leadership or business? † Mine is in my banner photo. ***** 🔔 Follow Dan for faith, leadership, & sales ♻️ Repost to help someone serve better 72 Ministries on YouTube for videos on faith, sales, business, leadership, & podcasts https://lnkd.in/ehm9xZeq "Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you." - Romans 12:3 "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves," - Philippians 2:3 There are many other examples of Israel and individuals being prideful and arrogant and it leading to downfall.
May 2026This is by far my greatest milestone and one I'm most proud of: Celebrating 30 years of marriage today! I thank God for my amazing wife, Kim, and for blessing us with our two children and a lifetime of love and memories. Cheers to US today and to many years ahead!
May 2026I used to receive SUPER negative notes. Now every day I receive inspiring ones like these: God is moving in mighty ways. Last Sunday I got a message from an atheist. Saturday we met for coffee to talk about God. Young men from youth group text me regularly for rides to church or to talk about Jesus. People are more open to spiritual questions than I've seen in 20 years. God is alive and active. May 2026Proverbs 13:20 is one of the most overlooked verses for business leaders: “Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.” You can build a strong business… You can read all the right books… You can set big goals… And still drift. Not because you lack vision. But because you lack the right voices. Your circle shapes your ceiling. Proximity is power. Who you listen to is who you become. Bad company doesn’t just slow you down. It quietly steers you off course. God doesn’t just care about your direction. He cares about your associations. The hard part isn’t just finding wise people. The hard part is choosing them wisely. The hard part is walking away from voices that feel good but are only worldly. Wisdom isn’t accidental. It comes from God. → What's your favorite proverb? → What are you studying right now? May 2026When I started in sales, I thought confidence created pipeline. Turns out pipeline creates confidence. As an athlete, confidence didn’t come from “time in the gym.” It came from tracking reps. How many shots I took. How many I made. Every week. Early in sales, I was tracking activity… but not performance. I counted total calls. I didn’t track conversions. I wasn’t measuring where opportunities were actually being created or lost. Once I started tracking the right numbers, my pipeline became predictable. And when my pipeline became predictable, my confidence changed overnight. Within a year, I 3×’d my sales. That was one of the first lessons that shaped how I think about becoming a sales athlete: Confidence isn’t something you wait for. It’s something you build through measurable reps. What made the biggest difference for you in creating a predictable pipeline?
Apr 2026“How you do anything is how you do everything.” Early in my sales career, I realized something simple but powerful: Standards show up in the smallest details. Here’s an example: At first, our proposals never went out the same. Some went out with paper clips. Some with loose pages. Potentially leaving the prospect with something that felt temporary. We changed this - every proposal was laminated and bound. Why? Because the way you present your work communicates how seriously you take your client, your process, and yourself. It wasn’t just a rule for the team. I followthe same standard. When I walked a candidate through the role during an interview - he walked through a laminated and bound proposal. If we expect excellence in front of clients, we practice excellence everywhere else too. That’s what I mean when I talk about becoming a sales athlete: • You prepare like it matters • You execute like it matters • You finish like it matters Not just when it’s convenient. Every time. Standards aren’t something you turn on for big opportunities. They’re something you live in the small ones.
