If you join The Fundraising Academy , I can’t promise to always be there at every conference you attend to adjust your collar for a picture or be your wingman for karaoke. But I can promise to be in your corner when it counts… ready to help you face whatever challenge (fundraising or otherwise) comes your way. #BuildGoodSummit2026 BuildGood

May 2026I used to think I was the problem. If the numbers didn’t move, I’d tell myself I just needed to be better or do more. Go on more visits, make more asks, try harder, work harder. You know. Fun stuff like that. Turns out almost every fundraiser I’ve ever met has some version of that belief living rent free in their mind too. On Thursday at the BuildGood Summit, I’m closing the conference with a talk exposing that belief for the lie it is. And I’m bringing evidence in the form of two stories… one featuring a guy playing a violin in a subway at rush hour and one about a Formula 1 driver with a world record no one wants… I’m aware of how this sounds. If you’ll be in Toronto, come find me at The Fundraising Academy booth and take our one-question survey. It’ll only take 30 seconds and your answers will help shape my talk. Take the survey or don’t. But stop by and say hi either way. Seeing a bunch of you in real life is what I’m looking forward to most anyway.
May 2026There’s a $100 billion gap in providing capital loans that allow small businesses to grow and thrive. Most need less than $100k in capital. Safe and non-predatory lending supports these businesses and helps to expand our economy. Accion Opportunity Fund helps to fill that gap with lending, education, and digital tools. #SmallBusiness #AOF
