In my role as Compliance Training & Awareness Specialist at FMO - Dutch entrepreneurial development bank , I was proud to design and host another impactful Integrity Week last week, together with many dedicated FMO colleagues. This year’s Integrity Week was built around a simple but powerful theme: "Integrity as our anchor for Impact, even when the world shifts around us". In a world marked by geopolitical uncertainty, rapid change, and increasing complexity, integrity is not something we can take for granted. It is what keeps us grounded. For a development financial institution operating in challenging contexts, Integrity as one of FMO's core values is inseparable from impact. It is what makes our impact sustainable and credible. Over the week, colleagues across the organization came together to reflect on what integrity really means in practice, not as an abstract principle, but as something shaped by small, everyday decisions. From the powerful kick-off speech by our Co-Chief Investment Officer Huib-Jan de Ruijter, CFA, to the inspiring keynotes on the global trends in the fight against corruption by Lousewies Van der Laan and the halo paradox in mission‑driven organizations by Isabel de Bruin Cardoso, PhD ; from the thought‑provoking documentary Behind Closed Doors to honest conversations sparked by real‑life dilemmas, the level of engagement and openness was truly inspiring. A big thank you to all speakers, contributors, and the 200+ colleagues who joined the sessions and discussions throughout the week. Thank you for making Integrity Week 2026 a real success. Our reflection and commitment continue beyond Integrity Week and see you next year!
